I’m finally able to share a piece I worked on last year for a byler/stranger things DnD themed zine that unfortunately got cancelled.

Regardless I had a lot of fun with this one, and my dnd/history nerd heart was quite happy while working on this.

I am a sucker for quiet moments so I wanted to make something about prepping for the next big battle (with a Thessalhydra mayhaps?), or something like that.

The Byler Big Bang is a fanwork event based on the Stranger Things ship of Mike Wheeler & Will Byers meant to create an explosion of content while providing structure, deadlines, and of course, community support to writers and artists. 

This year is especially exciting as we'll be posting during the hype period of Stranger Things 5's release!

How does a Big Bang work?

A Big Bang event is a challenge for fic writers to write longer fanfictions (10k words or more), partnering them with an artist to create accompanying artwork. 

Writers sign up to take part in the challenge and begin writing stories. Artists will be able to claim stories to work on after the authors are 50% through. Then, during designated posting periods, the author and artist post their new work for the fandom to see!

How do I get involved?

Writers can sign up as authors to participate by creating a fanfiction of 10k words or more over the course of the next months.

Artists can sign up as artists to participate by being paired with an author to create 1 or more artworks to accompany their fic.

Artists can also sign up as pinch-hitters to create additional art for works in the event that other artists drop out after claims.

Claiming the luminous potion would make the nation strong and vigorous, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. issued an order Friday directing all Americans to drink a mysterious glowing liquid. “In order to end the chronic disease epidemic in this country, it is imperative that every man, woman, and child take a large swig of this wondrous concoction,” said Kennedy, who held up a corked bottle emitting a bright, almost neon, green glow and explained that the eerie liquid would be added to municipal water sources to ensure the entire populace had access to it.
