ok so im just gonna leave this here as my personal byler prediction for season 4.
Mikes strong feelings for Will reignite slowly in the midst of being both VERY confused and conflicted. Robin and vickie will give him context for his feelings for will, and are the thing that makes him able to even consider it, being with will more than just platonically. even for just a second, but without the shame and guilt tied to it. because even when he found out they were two girls in love, nothing changed.
And he feels a butterfly of hope for the first time.
i THINK they will have a fight over the painting. rain involved? maybe. them being wet in the trailer?hm. Mike follows will out into the rain? AGAIN. this could be the emotional conclusion to the rain fight scene, since, not only was it significant enough for finn and noah too react to, but since will and mike NEVER actually talked about it, it couldn't be closed. its emotional conclusion was left hanging ITS WHY TEASON 4 WAS SO TENSE, simply because mike still wasnt ready yet. Everything comes back to the rain fight scene remember that. hence why i think its going to be parrelled when mike DOES have his realization.
Will and mike are essentially challenging their love and bond for each other when they fight, but this time its different. Mike is starting to get it. And actually, hes probably already got it deep down. he knows his feelings were a bit more than platonic and its always scared him. But now? Hes starting to accept it.
