ooooooo a very good question, Martha enjoys a deep maroon she enjoys the warmth of it the comfort it brings despite how foreign it is much like a rich wine or overripe berry the luxury it represents; the way the worlds hues shift under the tint of her googles when working at her latest project, the uniform of the Univercity alumni that is new upon her shoulders but the weight is natural.
(in comparison Florence enjoys the almost ridiculous familiarity and simplicity of gold; the wheat fields of home at dawn the jewellery that sits upon her sisters nimble fingers, her straw hat the buckles of her shoes. How all that fades once they enter the city when she finds herself dreaming of gold)
