Sulu and Chekov roleplaying as Kirk and Spock. I didn't know how much I needed this
what will piss me off until the day I die is the fact that if trump can change this much of America entirely for the worse, then there was never anything stopping any other president from changing it that much for the better, they just never actually wanted to.
This dog's face is sending me. New reaction image
As i was cropping it i thought the "no he'd die" was really funny so I kept it
I'm stealing this. Thanks.

DC Holiday Special: DC's Supergirl Next Door #1 - "Like Home" (2026)
written by Alex Galer art by Max Sarin
Human Is is a 1955 Philip K. Dick sci-fi short story where a guy goes to another planet for work and when he comes back to Earth his personality has flipped from an asshole to a sweet, kind, considerate man. Everyone's immediately convinced that an alien has taken over his body, this goes all the way to court, and in court his wife testifies that she's noticed no changes at all and so the charges are dropped.
And then there's a bit right at the end of the story as the wife and the husband are walking out of court:
Jill turned abruptly. "What is your name? Your real name."
The man's gray eyes flickered. He smiled a little, kind, gentle smile. "I'm afraid you would not be able to pronounce it. The sounds cannot be formed..."
Jill was silent as they walked along, deep in thought. The city lights were coming on all around them. Bright yellow spots in the gloom. "What are you thinking?" the man asked.
"I was thinking perhaps I will still call you Lester," Jill said. "If you don't mind."
"I don't mind," the man said. He put his arm around her, drawing her close to him. He gazed down tenderly as they walked through the thickening darkness, between the yellow candles of light that marked the way. "Anything you wish. Whatever will make you happy."
And I. God. There's something there. A soupcon of monsterfuckery. To tell your partner in a moment of intimacy that yes, you're something so inhuman that the lips you're stealing can't speak your actual name. You're a parasite that not only had the ability to burrow under this man's skin and take over his life, but you were so desperate to escape a dead, dry, blasted planet that you did.
And for your partner to then turn around and go "I know, I've always known, and I love you" is just. God I know it's not a great Dick story but something about it is making me lose my mind

I love the implication that, as Larry is an "unpaid trainee", the dog is paid.
Two Utah court clerks have been dubbed "anti-ICE vigilantes" after they were allegedly caught "sneaking" immigrants out the back door of the
That's how you show real solidarity!
"After they overheard that ICE was at the courthouse to arrest someone, they improperly accessed court databases to determine who was not born in the United States," a DOJ detention filing says. "They then snuck every suspected illegal alien who was at the courthouse out a back door, where ICE, who was waiting in the parking lot for their target to leave the building, could not see them."
Think about what you can do at your job or in your daily life to resist fascism when the opportunity presents itself!

Midnight Pals: Communion
Whitley Strieber: welcome to the dreamland podcast Strieber: the only podcast that casts the pod that the man doesn't want you to know Strieber: the truth is out there Strieber: or is that just what THEY want you to think? Strieber: trust no one Strieber: or is that just who THEY want you to trust?
Strieber: on today's episode, we've got the author of the new book communion Strieber: and i'm not talking about me Strieber: i'm pleased to announce that the vice president of the united states has also met aliens Strieber: wait i'm being handed a note right now
Poe: whitley i think you should know Poe: JD Vance's communion book isn't about aliens Strieber: of course not Strieber: we prefer to call them "star people" Poe: right sure Strieber: it's less othering Poe: well it's not about them either
Poe: it's actually about his conversion to catholicism Strieber: what? no aliens? Strieber: how am i supposed to podcast about that? Strieber: no one wants to hear about a dude being catholic! Barker: i don't know, anne is p into catholicism this week lol Anne Rice: it's the one true faith for now!
Strieber: well i guess welcome jd vance to the show or whatever Strieber: to tell his boring take on communion Strieber: which i guess isn't even about communing with aliens Strieber: i mean i don't even get the connection between that title and catholicism Strieber: wait i'm being handed a note
Poe: it's about the wafers Strieber: the what Poe: communion wafers Poe: you know when you eat the body of christ in a wafer Strieber: what Kim Newman: like the tom lehrer song Strieber: what
JD Vance: jd vance so grateful that master allows jd vance to go on dreamland podcast to promote jd vance's communion book Vance: master is so good to jd vance Vance: master allows jd vance to sleep on master's floor and eat master's garbage Vance: as vance deserves Vance: master is so good!
[earlier] Vance: master master jd vance will convert to catholicism to please master Vance: does jd vance's new faith please master? Trump: you blundering fool! the chicago pope saw right through it! Trump: this conversion has failed to secure papist loyalty, you bumbling nincompoop!
Vance: oh no! vance has displeased master! Vance: so sorry master please forgive vance! master must punish jd vance for his failure! Vance: jd vance is dirt! jd vance is garbage! jd vance is not worthy of master's love Trump: i really don't know who this guy is, he just came with the office
Strieber: ok let's go to the lines Strieber: caller, you're on the air with whitley strieber, author of the good communion book, and we're talking to jdvance, author of the other communion book William Peter Blatty: yeah i have a question about catholicism
Blatty: do the ecumenical reforms of the council of hagendevous (1235) supercede the traditional liturgy of the diet of antenjep (1123)? and, if so, what does that mean for the trilateral condition of the reformed soul, as stated by his holiness the desert father norvegicus augustine in 86 AD
Blatty: and how does that affect the reconstitued convergence of the mother church post council of clonderickis? Vance: jd vance thinks master is highest authority in catholicism Vance: whatever master says, is answer Vance: master is good! Vance: master says jd vance will get to be american pope
Vance: the master will reward jd vance for his loyal service Vance: after master is trapped at tower of Orthanc, orc hordes will definitely rally behind jd vance!
Vance: jd vance's long history of groveling for master's favor will definitely earn respectof orc hordes, which jd vance will totally be able to control!
how are you gonna be 31 and posting fandom content bro leave it to the teenagers
People 10 and 20 years older than me are writing your favorite fanfics, and drawing your favorite characters. You'd have no fandom without the people you think are 'too old' to have hobbies.
Who the heck do you think started modern day fandom with Star Trek? It sure wasn't teenagers.
Who do you think makes professional quality fanart and fanfic? People who've been practicing it for ten, fifteen, twenty years!
Or even people who've been practicing it for thirty, forty or fifty!!!!!
example: Diane Duane. Currently in her seventies. Star Trek fangirl since the original run. Goddess-level Ascended Fan who has created official tie-in works in more forms of media than pretty much anyone else alive, possibly even Rodenberry himself because they didn't have audiobooks or video games when he was with us. Writer of Spock's World, The Wounded Sky, Doctor's Orders in TOS. Co-writer of TNG script Where no one has gone before, and writer of the tie-in novel Dark Mirror among others. Writer of a half-dozen Star Trek Comics. She has adapted her own work for audio, has written for the Star Trek manga series, has written short Trek fiction for anthologies, and plotted and wrote the video game Star Trek: the Kobayashi Alternative.
In other fandoms, she was a personal friend of Terry Pratchett himself. As a scriptwriter, she's also worked in fandoms like Scooby-Doo, Transformers, My Little Pony, Gargoyles, Batman: The Animated Series, Spiderman: Unlimited (and a trilogy of tie-in novels still in print) and Barbie: Fairytopia. ...And that's just cherry-picking her imdb page.
While she can't give out specific details due to Obvious Reasons, she's still active in the Sherlock BBC fandom - and there's a specific subset of her fans who love guessing which of the legendary fanfics might be her work (I am not one of them, BTW, as it is None Of My Business. I'm old-school that way).
Fandom is not for teenagers. Fandom is for everyone of good heart and enthusiasm for a good (or even bad! No judgement!) story.
Just wait until you grow up, Anonymous OP. Wonder how long it'll take you to change your mind.
...Some days when you're feeling tired and sad, and wondering "what the hell is the point... why am I even bothering?"... it's nice to be reminded that you're supported.
