I'd like to hear your reasoning for why you think it is absolutely not eriza. I don't think she is either, but still curious
a.) she has too many memories. shes had years of writing detective novels, and being so on the nose about not having a partner would just be kinda like. too on the nose.
b.) shes 17, and cure eclair is likely to be the same age as ruruka (16). a minor point but im listing these as they come to me.
(if anyone thinks thats not a factor, you forget this is a show for children that is created by a large corporation and designed by committee, therye not putting inconsistencies in just to throw people off, its not that type of fucking show, preschoolers watch this. ease of marketing is literally very important, thats why this show gets made at all and we're lucky its good and not fucking aipri, and you cant make two different eye shapes for the transformed and untransformed cure eclair nuis)
d.) shes also literally just too conspicuous. shes the reddest herring of all time.
e.) her voice doesnt match. now i dont doubt her voice actress could do both voices, but if youve heard the toy leaks, you know what eclair sounds like, and erizas voice is just. a completely different. tone, cadence, like. because there isnt a very clear sound profile through a video of someone hacking a dumb plastic toy, it could technically be anyone, but if you listen side by side, i really think that kurea is the closest match, follow by shiruku, and i think. i think pitching up to reach kurea's more, like, she has like, a, chill, onee-san-y vibe to her, almost reaching into 'ara ara' territory. almost, not quite. and rei could unlock that side of her and pitch her voice up, but there is like, no way eriza could pitch down. like, physically, she could, but like. you look at her.
you just look at her. and use your common sense. like, its a mystery, yeah, so 'because ofc not' isnt really a great answer at the end of the day, but i have plenty of supporting evidence i think and also the huge bit of circumstantial evidence that we cannot forget is that THIS IS A TV SHOW WHOSE TARGET DEMOGRAPHIC IS VERY TINY CHILDREN AND SO ITS NOT GOING TO BE THAT HARD TO FIGURE OUT.
like i know they want it to be a mystery for all ages but its like. its not for us first and foremost. its for the 6 year old whos gonna feel like a million bucks when they wake up tomorrow morning to watch. its for the 9 year olds whove been arguing about this at lunch and its lowkey tearing the friend group apart and the kurea believers are gonna be really smug coming into class on monday and thats probably gonna make the rift in the friend group worse but thats how kids are sometimes.
those are the people who matter most, and so the mystery is designed to be solvable by them, so there has to be one person it definitely isnt, so the children can point to her and go, Nope.
like, any enjoyment a 30 year old on the other side of the planet can get from arguing with anonymous weirdos is probably appreciated by murayama and everyone else who crafted the mystery but not the real point.
i call myself the worlds greatest psychic but i havent really road tested this. i havent read any agatha christie. but maybe i should! maybe i should get into detective fiction for people my own age! and prove im the worlds greatest psychic! by which i mean im good at predicting whats going to happen in stories because theres only a finite number of plausible things that can happen in any limited situation to a limited amount of characters due to the fact that books and shows are not real life and reality is very small and there are genres and genre conventions and tropes and stuff like that so i pick out the one i think would be the best and you tell me you put ten toes down and tell me if kurea wasnt cure elcair that you wouldnt sit there and think about those scenes of her and ruruka and feel robbed of what could have been.
