Antares’ first hobby was whittling, his parents were woodcutters and allowed him to play with leftover scraps as a kid. By the time he was fully grown he had developed it into a refined skill and planned to earn a living as a sculptor. Then Nayrium happened. 

His fires are highly affected by the intensity of his emotions, trying to whittle reminds him of home and that’s enough to start a small pyre of giantsflame (I hc it being incredibly hotter than regular fire)

One of his interests is the world itself. In his childhood he’d wander as far as he could into the woods behind his home. While he’s terrified by the Lands Between he still appreciates the remaining beauty and keeps a journal detailing everything and everyone he meets. His enthusiasm for each region is what inspires him to grant them all independence as Elden Lord.

After mastering cold sorcery and becoming Elden Lord he takes up ice sculpting, creating statues of different creatures and people he's encountered (And one or two provocative depictions of his dearest Miquella) whenever he has free time.

Nayrium has a deeply hidden fear of disappointing the outer gods.

In her opinion serving an outer god is the closest a mere mortal can achieve a morsel of purpose. That’s why she's so desperate to please them and ascend from her puny mortal frame.

What terrifies her most is the thought that her gods do not notice her efforts. Or worse, they're irritated by her. After she was resurrected by grace her self-confidence wavered due to her death being caused by merely glimpsing the outer gods, she felt unworthy. When she passed through Antares’ village she even contemplated giving up. To “snap herself out of it” she decided to kill its entire population and (After doing 99% of the job) brand Antares’ soul with giantsflame as a sacrificial apology to her gods. 

Her fear of being a "purposeless and lowly human” is a catalyst for her most drastic (And horrifying) decisions, she’d do anything to get her masters’ attention.
