Throughout the episode, this group of garbage men and their driver have run-ins with multiple different entities (this was confirmed by Jonny in one of the q&as iirc) through the trash they find at one specific house. It starts with doll heads, likely the stranger based on its frequent doll motifs. Then burnt religious texts which pretty strongly falls under desolation, not only because of the inclusion of fire but also because of how the catholic garbage man reacts (discomfort at seeing something you hold dear destroyed is the desolation mo, fire is often just used to achieve this). Then the teeth, which I'd argue are flesh since the discomfort comes from them potentially being human and we see that a lot with the flesh.

These constant run-ins initially intrigue their driver in a fun way, he's delighted by them in how grotesque they are, but after the teeth he's noticeably rattled and his intrigue becomes an obsession out of fear. He continues to look into and watch the house, trying to find out who is behind these garbage bags, no matter how much it hurts him. This is a Jon parallel. Jon joined the institute because the fear and trauma from his childhood encounter with a lietner of the web formed a deep interest with the paranormal which, as both the season and series progresses, becomes obsessive to the point it literally becomes necessary for him to live due to the deep connection he forms with the eye.

The ultimate death of the truck driver is showing Jon and the audience the dangerous that await him in seeking out knowledge about these horrors and constantly needing to know more.
