I need a Thank u Mr Terry tag
#thank you mr terry#thinking something isn't doing it and doing is all people see#and deep down it means that when the ugly thought reared its head to be realized#you stood up in front of that ugly hurtful thought and said 'sit down'
Pardon me, but I needed to read your tags tonight.
This is why I often say that âunfilteredâ isnât âmore authenticâ because filters are part of what make up a person, in much the way that you donât get a better photo of a mountain by strip-mining it first.
HI LETâS SHARE NICOLEâS WORDS ON THE SUBJECT!Â
It has been literal years but every time I see Martinâs tweets posted somewhere and his word is shared as truth while her post is not shared it sort of reiterates the fact that we trust men to speak about feminism more than we believe women who experience it.Â
Interesting, innit? https://medium.com/@nickyknacks/working-while-female-59a5de3ad266
Reading her account of how their boss treated her blows me away. Men are so emboldened that they will literally admit to illegal discrimination casually and face no consequences.
In all the years of seeing this post Iâve never seen a link to her side. Didnât even know sheâd written one.
Adding screenshots of her post. His whole post is there without needing a link. Hers should be, too.
Also, she posted this is 2017! Itâs fucking 2020 and Iâve seen his side of this for years, but it took 3 years for her side to make its way to my dashâŚ
Iâve reblogged his story at least twice; itâs time for Nicoleâs.
Reblogged him, bout time I got to reblog her.

very proud of the currently-growing generationâs ability to take consent seriously
incredibly disturbed by the way some of them have really vocally decided that consent culture applies to literally everything, up to and including other peopleâs right to literally just exist in a public space
it starts with something like âall nudity is sexualâ or âwearing kinky clothes is inherently a sexual actâ with the accompanying âsince itâs sexual it requires consent from all involved parties, and seeing it is a form of involvement, so you need my consent to go out in public where i might see youâ and once you start with that it has historically been â iâm as leery of slippery-slope arguments as anyone else but it *has historically, repeatedly been demonstrated* â a very, very short trip from there to policing gender expressions and etc and you know, we still live in a deeply homophobic and transphobic society, the whole thing where people are trying to make it illegal to exist in public while trans is ⌠a thing, in real life, right now? and your âwearing a collar in public is an act of bondage sex to which i do not consentâ bullshit is absolutely 100% in support of the evangelical puritansâ âexisting while queer is an offense against god. jesus did not consent to you wearing clothing inconsistent with the gender i believe you should be presentingâ iâm sure there are a number of people who KNOW those are the same thing with the same end goals/results and are doing it on purpose; i know that there are in fact bad-faith actors repurposing social justice language in service of oppression, you can watch it happen, see also all the conservatives currently parroting âmy body my choiceâ as they endanger everyone around them during a global pandemic. but i think some of them are just naive and genuinely believe themselves to be both correct and leftist, and like. nope
it wasnât all that long ago that people were in fact regularly getting arrested for wearing clothing inconsistent with their assumed gender. like it was illegal to cross-dress and the cops would go out and arrest trans women and trans men and butch lesbians and effeminiate gays, because of trans- and homophobia, and wearing the wrong clothes was literally the offense used as an excucse to enforce those -phobias. i am not eager to return to that in any way. you cannot argue that your imagined rules against âsexual clothingâ would somehow not be used against trans people because, get this, there ARE people in the world for whom cross-dressing is a sex thing, even though the vast majority of trans people are not doing it for any such reason. if you think itâs acceptable to literally police the actions of everyone based on the fact that there are people who might get off on it, then your beliefs are, in actual practical fact of effect, in support of arresting trans people for failing to conform to gender presentation
When trans women are mocked and made into jokes in the media, I get very upset, and I am often told âKay, you canât go through life getting offended every time someone makes a joke.â And I sputter and object but they donât hear me. So I want to be clear for once, about why the jokes make me angry.
I learned to hate myself for being transgender before I knew I was transgender. I laughed at the jokes in stand up comedy routines, and prime time sitcoms, and animated comedy shows, and in the movies, and in books, and in games, laughing at trans women for existing, about âmen in dressesâ, about people who âgot their dicks chopped offâ, and I learned to think that was worthy of ridicule.
And then a day came when I felt a pang of envy at what my female classmates were wearing and I repressed it, and felt guilty, and a day where I felt incomplete because I had no breasts and I repressed it and I felt disgusting And a day when I realized the only images of romance that made me feel anything showed two women together and I repressed it and I felt like a monster And a day when I realized I felt sick when I looked at myself in the mirror after every shower before work and couldnât bear to look at my own face, and I hated myself. And then there came a day when I hated myself so much, and I thought I could never understand why, and so I just wanted it all to end. And it was just a miracle that I swerved my car back into my lane in time.
And all of it started with a joke that I heard on TV, and then kept hearing from all the voices from the ether, over and over and over, worming an idea into my mind before I was old enough to realize I was absorbing it, the idea that a man in a dress is funny, and that changing your body parts makes you a freak, and that women who have penises instead of vaginas are liars and hurt men. And theyâre still making these jokes. And somewhere out there right now, just like all those years ago, there is a little girl in a t-shirt and cargo shorts with buzzed off hair watching the TV, hearing that joke and absorbing it without knowing it, who will someday have to pry herself apart to tear it out of her head, just like I did.
That is, if she doesnât kill herself first.
I know this is a really heavy post but if you read it and you appreciated it, Iâd appreciate it in return if you reblogged it. This is really important to me and I want people to read it and understand it. Thank you.
i think some of y'all really need to learn that you are only entitled to safety, not to feelings of safety. you need to recognize that your feelings are fallible, shaped by your cultural upbringing and intrinsic biases, and that they are not always reflective of reality.
for example, imagine you've been raised in a society that violently stigmatizes drug use, mental illness and homelessness. you're walking down the street, and you see someone who is disheveled, talking to themselves or yelling, pacing, maybe even smoking or injecting drugs. you feel unsafe, even though this person poses no threat to you. you call the police, even though no harm has been done and a reasonable assessment of the situation can tell you that no harm will be done. the police come and arrest that person, and although your right to safety was never violated, you've now put someone else in harm's way. you've traded their right to physical safety for your own perception of safety, and that is morally indefensible. that cannot be explained away by saying that you deserve to be safe in public, because you were never unsafe in the first place.

Just an experiment. Reblog if you actually give a fuck about male victims of domestic violence and rape.
Of fucking course
What sick bastard doesnât
âYouâd be surprisedâ, said Xaldien, who just lost four followers and received a lovely âmen canât be rapedâ anon shortly after reblogging this the first time.
Yowch, disgusting.
If I donât reblog this, assume Iâm dead.
Always reblog this
If you Dont reblog this if u see it then i cant call u my friend
IF ANYONE TELLS ME THAT MEN CANâT BE VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND RAPE, I AM SICKENED BY THEIR MERE PRESENCE ON MY BLOG.
If you disagree with me, unfollow my blog, block me and never look at my blog again.
If you want to debate about this or send anonâs about this, I will reply but your actions have consequences.
Out of 19000+ followers I have, only one of you actually reblogged about this issue, yet a lot of you have reblogged and liked a picture by playboy about catcalling and that how men should never do it.
Additionally, I have received abuse in my ask box (which I will be answering when I can) and threats. In particular death threats and rape threats.
I can see the real problem here already. Male domestic violence and rape is just invisible in our society because we donât want to talk about this because it just damages the status quo of this fucking website.
Iâm a male victim of child sexual abuse. We matter. Please, reblog this.
Please never forget male victims are real and it can happen to everyone/anyone
Make sure the romance is there on both sides people
Screw people who donât believe in male rape.
Everyone can be raped and denying that because of your childish, pathetic hatred for men is quite frankly disgusting.
We should care about our mens just as much as our womens.
I canât believe there are people who wonât reblog thisâŚ
Men can be victims of rape and other forms of sexual and physical abuse. Anyone can be a victim! Itâs worse for same sex couples, you think the cops take it seriously when a male is abused by their male partner? Do you think they give a shit?
BOOST.
everyone should be reblogging thisâŚ
Reblogging as a public service, because I donât recall seeing this one before, like this. And also because Iâm an abuse survivor. Both of my parents were abusive and my father in particular molested any child he could lay hand on, regardless of their gender. He got my sisters and he got me too. I wonât go into details. Itâs been decades. He is dead now to my best knowledge (my father died from three cancers at once, basically, after his liver quit on him).
Point is, being born male does not mean you canât be attacked, overpowered, intimidated, misled and molested. Date-rape drugs work on men too. Violent women can get extremely creative in how they use weapons to overpower (often younger) men.
What Iâm saying is: donât give me any radical feminist bullshit here. YES, violence from men is higher-percentage because men have more testosterone in their bodies, all other things being equal. AND ALSO, human beings EXCEL in failing to be human once they become violent and abusive, meaning âall other thingsâ get made UNEQUAL in a big fucking hurry. Improvising weapons is a human thing, not a man thing. Ditto with jumping single people five to ten at a time. Iâve witnessed and survived a lot of this myself, from my own immediate and extended family, and the weirdos they saw fit to âbefriendâ, meaning get drunk with.
No, seriously. This is appalling: the same people who constantly insist that men should die before hitting a woman, or that men should die before raising their voice to a woman? Those same people get attacked and raped, because they werenât just harmless, but also defenseless. And then you turn right around and insist they âcanât get raped.â As if any handheld thing roughly the size and shape of a penis canât be used for assault purposes. Are you kidding me?
@chargetheintruder you have never said this in Dmâs. My first sexual encounter was with a woman when I was fourteen. The longterm abuse was at the hands of women in my childhood. I tend not to call the ongoing relationship with an adult woman abuse because it was primarily a problem because children are just vulnerable and the suffering for me related more to my trust, emotions and attachment. On paper itâs abuse. legally itâs abuse. I just don;t call it that because in one case was sex and the other was violence but primarily co-ercive control.
I feel like the men I know who were raped by men suffered something more physically traumatic and violent. I think I cannot even imagine being a man or male child who is raped by a man. I canât imagine how terrifying that must be to have those childhood cares about image and looking strong and developing masculine identity but being physically violated. I am a woman and I have been assaulted by men but i do not think men are the only predators or unable to be victims. I know men who have suffered more greatly than i can comprehend.
Iâm trying to avoid using the language but you are hitting the nail on the head. Ignoring men , or pretending not to see or hear their suffering is about writing them out of the narrative and that is most likely political.
After a tumblr hiatus in the real world I have returned to find these extremist ideas circulating. Why isnât this post crossing our dashes? I guess because men are afraid to speak up for themselves or other men. You donât have to be anti-feminist to support Men as much as women. Rape is a human issue. And it is so hard for Men. Especially older generations who grew up exposed to toxic masculinity. Toxic masculinity mostly harms men. It is telling little boys theyâre weak if they cry or ask for help.
Caring about one group because it is your group and represents your message is not caring. It is just using people as pawns. Please stop being deaf to men suffering. Stop assuming abuse is only Men harming women, it happens in same-sex relationships. We canât help others until we recognize this is auniversaland genderless issue.
We are also fighting decades of the idea Men âshould man upâ so men are less likely to report abuse. We need to just be kinder all round because as I have just realized because @chargetheintruder was brave enough to share a personal story; We really have no idea what people have been through and we have to stop making assumptions and judgements.
Youâre not supposed to say this stuff out loud, dude
"If voting were fair, we would lose" is not the point you want to be making publicly, man. That's not a rallying cry that's a self-own.
Hearing the words "they called them flamewars back then" in the latest strange-aeons aged me to dust.
wait, what do they call them now?
'Discourse.'
I knew your father. I fought with him back in the FlamewarsâŚ.

All ill say if the us supreme court decides to turn over the indian child welfare act and i don't see white people talking about it, especially white lgbt people, i will be pissed
Hereâs a link tree of more details about the icwa supreme court hearing and things you can do ^_^
Putting this on my account so it reaches my audience. I don't know what this is or what's happening but if I can spread awareness for those who need it, I'll happily talk about it.
So the ICWA (Indian Child Welfare Act) basically prevents the removal of Native American children from their homes, which essentially removes them completely from their culture and whitewashes them. Obviously, thatâs not very good, which is why the tribes fought to get the bill instated and now people are trying to remove it, which is why itâs going to the SCOTUS. Which is why that link above is very helpful!
If we keep placing native american children in the homes of evangelical white people, and correspondingly continue to abuse and curtail the rights of the adult population, there will soon be no more american indians. I'm sure some people see this as a good thing, as it may give them an ability to abuse them more by taking their land and their resources, but this cannot be allowed to stand.
