love the r/bald subreddit. just so many guys who are balding and embrace going full bald and posting before and after pictures and the after pictures are always so glowing and wonderful and they look so great. and all the comments are like hell yeah brother welcome to the club you look ten years younger and so much more confident now. i love it so much. im unironically so happy for these guys. very handsome lads

hair loss is such a source of insecurity for so many people because of how hair is so closely linked to identity and gender expression, and drastic changes to ones appearance are very scary to go through with, and im just very glad all these guys get to feel good and free and be in the bald club

At the same time I also think treatments for hair loss should be easier to access, as any other gender-affirming care. It sucks that only the rich can readily afford to start their treatment early enough when their hair starts to recede that they don't need to wait until they're visibly balding to get treatment for it. I personally think there's nothing wrong with baldness, but I know it is a source of insecurity for so many and it sucks that the treatments are not very accessible across all income brackets.
