I play a LOT of Blood on the Clocktower, it's a great social deduction game by the Pandemonium Institute, would highly recommend either playing it or watching videos of it, No Rolls Barred has some great stuff
I'm currently writing a fanfic called "paper for skin, ink for blood" which is set on an OC planet in the Cosmere called Ankharum! It was briefly settled on by Virtuosity at some point post-Shattering, and the Shard's presence thoroughly Invested a geothermal spring in one of Ankharum's biggest cities, giving its waters certain... effects. My profile picture is the protagonist, an OC called Callam!

also Shai is a great character! its so obvious how arrogant and greedy the arbiters think her at first, but the fact she rewrote the emperor to be such a selfless leader is just brilliant
if only she shows up again in the wider cosmere... *cough* Moonlight *cough*
Forgery is also such a clever magic system (and it aligns closely, but not identically, with an OC magic system i created for a cosmere fic i am planning to eventually write lol)

1. long overdue for a redraw
2. quite possibly still the dumbest thing I’ve done in this fandom up until today.
Some of you might remember this post from quite a while back. The story behind it is that my bestie got me interested in the Cosmere by sharing fun facts about Hoid out of context. I drew the original version for her as a gift, then not long afterwards proceeded to get obsessed with Moash midway through WoK, and the rest is history. But before then, I had this Hoid.
I’ve been meaning to redraw this for months (years), and include some new stuff that got revealed in the meantime. 5 years ago Design didn’t have her Ramen restaurant, and kazoos were yet to be canon in the Cosmere. Hoid still had his sense and good style, which I, of course, had to strip away from him the first chance I got. I also changed the bowl he is holding to be a version modelled after the official merch from the Dragonsteel store.
The greatest change is definitely the map in the background. iirc the OG version was a map of the travels of worldhoppers and Shards – well, to an extent it still is. Please welcome Hoid clowning his colleagues, and also including a very detailedTM drawing of himself as a coat rack next to Komashi. As well as a few doodles, and a diss aimed at Kelsier.

The 2026 version of my friend called this pair drawings "Hoid after I read the Cosmere" and "Hoid before I read the Cosmere".

He once showed up with a full beard, and, after I visualised him looking like a Mall Santa (fake beard held in place by a string, all that stuff), I was promptly told that he put actual effort into the whole look, and grew it out himself (probably) [I can neither confirm nor deny that that is a real beard, or an illusion]
He is a Worldhopper, which basically means Local Cryptid (Edit: Foreign Cryptid. Interdimensional Cryptid? Intergalactical? Planetary?)
He was buddies with God
He loves playing music and telling stories (He does that too while the world is about to end apparently, in a clearing or smth? Idk, she is being extremely vague when describing these bits of info to me)
I imagine him sitting on a rock in the woods, playing a jolly little kazoo tune into the stormy night
He gave his flute to Kaladin (to cheer him up or something), but Kaladin lost it because stuff happened in his life, and apparently Hoid was not too thrilled about that fact. (Kaladin is the depressed guy who walked back to camp without his footwear, and who called a parrot a chicken, and that’s all I know about him) [There is a piece of misinformation in that sentence, but I am not willing to correct it]
He loves instant noodles
“Put that pattern on his hoodie - Don’t ask, just do it”
“Read and find out is an actual shirt, and I want you to make him wear that”
He is a Lightweaver, so, illusions?
He has a pet (?) dragon. I saw the flute, saw the dragon, and, based on those two singular bits of information about the guy, promptly decided that he is now my favourite character - even though I barely know him.

He has these gold (?) dust/dirt/particles in his pockets, that he just... throws at people?? Like... sprinkles it the way one would throw spices into a bowl of soup?
That’s all there is to it, really.
Edit: The remaining bits of info I have include Adolin, The heir to the Kholin Princedom, shitting himself three times, all on purpose, crabs, and a talking sword who wants to destroy evil.
Edit 1.5: How could I forget to say that I’ve also heard about the “You could be fire” “I am a stick” exchange. Legendary."
i finished the lost metal on Tuesday (been procrastinating writing this) but here's a few of my thoughts:
(Full Mistborn Era 2 spoilers & minor Stormlight spoilers ahead)
WAYNE NOOOO - omds did he grow so much as a character. I loved his dialogue with Harmony in the last couple of chapters! I also find it hilarious how Wayne invested in random things in an attempt to go bankrupt, and then ended up as one of the richest people in all of Elendel... and then leaving it all to Allriandre is just incredible.
I'm not gonna lie, I didn't expect Marasi to refuse the invitation to join the Ghostbloods, from Kelsier himself nonetheless, but it was DEFINITELY the right decision. PLUS ALLIK, I LOVE ALLIK, ALLIK IS THE BEST.
Speaking of the Ghostbloods, they're such a complicated, deep organisation that I don't think I've formulated a proper opinion of just yet. In Stormlight they are very carefully and precisely set up as the villains, or at least as a neutral party, but then Mistborn Era 2 (being set on Scadrial, of course) *mostly* flips that on its head as a couple of operatives (Moonlight and TwinSoul) help Marasi to deal with the trellium bomb and the Community, but there are very much undertones of "protect Scadrial, whatever the moral & ethical cost", which makes it hard to say the Ghostbloods are inherently a 'good' organisation.
Wax becoming a full chemist and metallurgist made me laugh and I don't quite know why - it was just very unexpected to me.
STERIS GOT RECOGNITION AND CREDIT FOR HER PLANNING!!!! YAYYY!!!!
I love the family dynamic between Wax, Steris, and Max (not really including little Tindwyl), especially how Max reacts with as much excitement to being flown around by Wax as Steris does.
MeLaan... she did the right thing by breaking up with Wayne but it doesn't make things hurt any less. I'm sad she didn't have more pagetime in TLM, but for Wayne's character development it makes sense.
That got VERY cosmere-y and I LOVED it. Autonomy, Trell and Telsin; more Lerasium; Ghostbloods and the nods to both the Aethers and soulstamps and the Shaod...
Good book.
Tress next! And I'm gonna read Isles of the Emberdark after, before mopping things up with Sunlit Man and Yumi, might also try get my hands on White Sand, King Lopen & Elsecaller, if I can find them or order them at my local bookstore...

Lessie being a kandra all along was a great twist - i still wonder what it was Harmony tried to force her to do that made her remove her spike?
SOONIE PUPS ARE HILARIOUS. LIKE WDYM YOU TOOK ONE OF THE ORIGINATORS AND MADE HIM INTO A MARKETABLE PLUSHIE. justice for my boy TenSoon, he deserves better than this.
bro the line where Wax goes, "I'm not Harmony's sword. I'm his gun." was just perfect for the moment
and i very much cried at the end, when Wax is sat there in shock, Steris puts her hand on top of his, and then he leans on her shoulder and starts crying. I love how their dynamic has developed since the start of Alloy of Law, and Bands of Mourning is gonna be great!
ALSO Marasi, MeLaan and Wayne are all such great characters... we got Marasi investigating the corruption of the governor; MeLaan scaring people by talking all high and mighty, and Wayne doing as Wayne does.
