The crowd was as much a part of the show as the band. Everyone was there: North Beach beatniks and barrio zoots, the bored bikers in black leather, teenagers in the back row kissing. There were long-haired, lithe girls in belly-dance get-ups, pink-haired punks safety-pinned together, hippie suburbanites, movie stars so beautiful they left you dumbstruck, muscle gayboys with perfect mustaches, butch dykes in blue jeans, and fairies of all genders in thrift-store dresses. We rode the mirrored ball on glittering LSD and love power. Dance fused us, magical and cleansing. We were all in a swirl of color and light. It was like a rainbow.

I added an aside about "no bras in space" in this Captain Marvel fic in reference to that infamous thing George Lucas said re: Princess Leia. I also had a joke about Dot and Fatin watching LOST in this The Wilds fic.
Are these funny to anyone but me? Impossible to say.
On the fun fact side, I wrote a Reylo AU in which Rey and Kylo Ren ended up in an alternate universe where Anakin never became Vader and that world's Rey and Ben Solo are married. I sketched out the most relevant details in the fic, but I have a whole timeline of events for the alternate dimension in my head-- particularly revolving around Anakin accidentally starting a splinter sect of the Jedi, Jedi Grandmaster Anakin and his son-in-law Han Solo getting themselves into trouble, and the two Orders having many, many ongoing rivalries and disputes about interpretation of the Jedi Code.

I do not trust Jason Todd fans who interpret his character to be some paragon of leftism or super in tune with the experiences of marginalized people, ie being the protector of crime alley or Gothamās lower class
Like on one hand, no I donāt think Jason is a bigot or a conservative, far from it actually. Jason does care about women and Gothamās lower class and weāve seen this plenty of times in the comics. I understand why his fandom, which comprises mostly of women and queer folk, latch onto him and project this interpretation of him.
However, where I donāt like this take is when people completely ignore or disregard the canon of Jasonās actual character. Jason did not become red hood and a crime lord to better gotham or protect its vulnerable peoples, he became one to control it and most importantly, get back at Bruce. He viewed Gotham as something to beat into submission, something he could control.
In this need for control, he became a crime boss who preyed upon the very vulnerable people he was once apart of, which is very sad. Itās not that Jason doesnāt care about Gothamās vulnerable, itās that his need for vengeance and control made them a means to an end. Sure, he may not deal drugs to kids or abuse women like other mobsters do, but heās still a crime lord and a perpetrator of the same system.
And Iām sorry, I donāt think Gothamās lower class or marginalized people would realistically have a positive or high opinion of red hood. What makes him different from the other crime lords of Gotham? And Iām sorry but a cishet white guy controlling or āprotectingā lower class people by using lethal force and being a crime lord sounds very effy to me.
Like, we have a character that are protectors of Gothamās lower class, women and children: her name is Selina Kyle. But batfam fans would rather die than explore a female character in any light or depth outside of a man, or at all.
btw the "women aren't written in a compelling way" argument quickly falls flat when the people who say these things also happen to be fans of MEN who aren't written well. you can argue that its the system which is misogynistic all you want, but drooling over a gimmick-y trope-y male character a second after tells me all i need to know
