I'm no longer going to be posting long updates like this on tumblr though! Me and my team have decided to start using a discord server for all updates and announcements regarding the game. SO, here's what's happening.

I wanted to wait to make this update until I was fully done with charles and murderface's scene and intro, but I'm not 😢.

I'm pretty much done with charles' intro, mainly because he's the first person you will meet when arriving at mordhaus, but I'm still not completely happy with his intro yet. I keep brainstorming trying to figure out what I want to do with him but I keep getting stuck. And murderface doesn't even exist yet. I've switched from simply coding my ideas as soon as I get them to instead typing my story ideas out before I code them (genius I know), which has made it significantly easier to make a cohesive story but it has also taken me much more time than anticipated.

We're now sitting at roughly 1700 lines of code, which is 100 less than I originally anticipated, but is also around 4-500 more than before! Despite how behind I feel there is still a lot of progress being made on the coding end of things, the main things backing me up are simply creative instead of my code not working, which is always great.

But otherwise my artists are doing great! I keep calling them my artists and I don't really know why, but it sounds good! Welcome to my newest artists that joined from my last post. ( @bra1nbuzz and @miriena !)

They both are super great! Miri is much newer than Joey ( @bra1nbuzz ) so they haven't been able to do much yet, but they definitely bring an amazing vibe to our team!

Anyways, look at some of the work that all my artists have done so far!

My artists have been working overtime to make all of this, they're practically lapping me with the amount of hard work they've been doing. I am so immensely grateful for all of it though! I never would have made as much progress as I have if it wasn't for them!

I also have been thinking really hard about what name I should officially pick for this project, I have two possible ideas but I haven't picked yet. For this poll you guys can help me pick! I'd love any extra suggestions or comments on this cause I am super undecisive lol.

I previously touched on this in my last post, but right now I am looking for volunteers to help with the development of the dethklok dating game!

Currently I already have two artists who have been helping me greatly, but the more the merrier!

All artists who join the development team have early access to everything about the game including any play tests or early demos, and you get to be a part of any and every creative decisions made for the game!

So, the last poll isn't quite done yet but it looks like charles is going to win. Soo the next update I make will be more about him! Other than that there has been alot of progress these past couple days!

My two artists ( @slvdgtipede and @gothygraves ) have been putting in some major work and it's been so fun to work with them!

I've got nathan's first solo cutscene pretty much done thanks to @slvdgtipede

and I have two portrait assets for some special affects that i intend to fully integrate later from @gothygraves

it's all so cool!!! This is coming together so well, the demo will be so peak!

Other than that stuff, the most recent update to the code that I've made has just been some small stuff like animating and special affects, but i did start with skwisgaar's scene as well as toki's.

Both of them are going to have a lot of risqué scenes, so it's only fitting that their intro scenes are as well. I also purposely made it so their scenes are semi similar to each other, mainly just so the contrasts between them are a bit more obvious.

Right now we're sitting at a grand 1456 lines of code total which translates to around 12 minutes of gameplay! Which is some great progress! Once I add Murderface's and Charles' intros I expect for that number to go up to around 1800-2000 which would be around 15-20 minutes of gameplay!

As more time passes the better and better this project is getting. This is already so much better than I originally intended for it to be and I am so happy for that.

There will be no poll this time, but I do have a request! If you are interested in supporting us in this project, either with coding or with submitting some art for the game, please don't be afraid to reach out to me! I will always be looking for help with this project, and the more help I get the better this project will become!

As usual though, any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated!

SO, the pole winner from the last poll was for me to change the demo and instead implement all of the characters and their intros instead of only two with their minigames.

Sooo, I've pivoted to having introductions for every character now! Currently I'm working on Skwisgaar's intro and scene but I'm still not sure who I will work on next, so that's what the poll will be about this week.

Other than that there are no other super major updates, except for a very exciting one!

They have both been extremely kind and have started helping me with character sprites and background scenes to help make this game as good as it possibly can be!

he has been so great so far and we've only been working together for literally one day!!

I'm so happy that my development team is still growing and that members of this community are helping me so much. I'm always looking for as much help as I can possibly can get and I'm so happy that both of these extremely talented people have volunteered their skills for this project.

But otherwise as usual any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated! let me know what you guys want to see me update next with our next poll!
