This isn't something you can look up, I'm sure, but if you are curious: yes, the Montreal General Hospital would be a logical hospital for an injured hockey player to be taken to. It's just up the hill and there's a Level 1 trauma centre there - the other one in Montreal is a lot further away.
However! In conversation, it's never called "Montreal General Hospital" or "Montreal". It's "the Montreal General." You can call it "the Montreal General Hospital" if you need to be super clear, or "the General" if the context means you are for sure naming a hospital.
Thank you for your attention to this matter in all your whump fic.
(And happy to answer any questions about other Montreal speech conventions!)
ETA: also, you don't need to sign in anywhere. There's no, like, security to get into spaces with patients. If you know the room number, you just go up there (if you can find it - it's a very confusing setup!).
it feels like this had to be at least partly french conventions now that I think about it?? obviously they’d say the montreal general and not just montreal general the way someone would say mass general or whatever in boston (now i want to ponder what hospital is closest to the garden…… maybe mass general……)

So I'm maybe just a liiiiiiittle obsessive, and I wanted to work out the timeline of the show, and figured I'd share it with you all. I vividly remember the scene in like the second movie where the Weasleys were looking at their school supply list and Molly was like “I really don’t know how we’re going to afford it this year” after they had just risked life and limb to rescue Harry and Harry was sitting there eating their food like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Oh, and when he got all the candy on the train, he was extremely malnourished after being mistreated and abused from living with the dursleys, and made sure that he got enough for himself and Ron, whom he had literally only just met.

I am finally reading the Cinder series this year! I’ve read the first one, and started the second. I really loved Cinder and I flew through it. I had the honor of helping to host an event for the wonderful @sam_aye_ahm on Monday and today I want to spotlight her brilliant debut novel, LOVE, HATE & OTHER FILTERS. This YA contemporary is timely, well written and nuanced, dealing with identity and Islamophobia through the lens of an Indian Muslim girl in her senior year of high school in the US, struggling with her parents expectations, her own desires and others’ prejudices. Hey everyone! Hope you’re all having a good Tuesday! It’s a bit snowy here and I have a cold so that’s been a frustrating way to start my week and my new semester of school (hence my absence the last few days). ❄️ today I thought I’d throw some appreciation toward one of my absolute favorite superheroes, the Kamala Khan Ms. Marvel. The first trade of this Ms. Marvel run was the comic that got me into reading comics and I can not recommend it enough. I continue to be a loyal reader and I think that this is an accessible comic to read as an entrance to the Marvel universe. It’s one where you don’t have to know every single other Marvel character, and better yet- it features a Muslim teenage girl as the main character! We don’t see nearly enough diversity in comics and I hope that more will come out in the wake of Ms. Marvel because the comics industry needs to change! 📚 QOTD: Who’s your favorite superhero?
