One of the things I’m obsessed with both in fiction and in real life is the ways people say I love you without saying “I love you”. This is definitely a prime exemple.

"den Umständen entsprechend" is one of my favourite german phrases of all time. Ich sag dir nicht was die Umstände sind, wenn du die nicht kennst ist das dein Problem. ultimate boss of nuance. "it is what it is" but 10 times more german. Ich geh mich jetzt den Umständen ersprechend aus dem Fenster werfen

Everyone should watch Amelie because it's a whimsical movie about an autistic-coded girl who's so shy that she resorts to James Moriarty levels of psychological games rather than just talking to her autistic-coded crush, she wants to make everyone around her happy but too scared to give herself the same gift, and the entire cast is delightful and diverse, for being a semi romantic comedy it was extremely engaging and and I was on the edge of my seat emotionally invested the entire time. The soundtrack is beautiful as well

Hi, these bees are babies! They’re not clumsy at all, this is what is called orientation flights. After birth and before beginning their careers as foragers (as all Honey bees cycle through all the jobs in the Hive throughout their lifespan), Honey bees take short flights back and forth, to and from the Hive, to orient themselves with their wings and their home so they can learn its location and how to get back home after foraging! Everyone has to learn, these are just smol little baby turkeys. Bees use the angle of the sun for location so adults have a better and more direct sense of location than any human

I remember an interview with a guy that did the camera work for nature documentaries and he said that baleen whales like these guys were the scariest things to shoot because “They’re the size of a train, they can suddenly appear out of nowhere in dark or murky water and they don’t make a goddamn sound. I was absolutely sure that one of them was going to hit me and well, ‘that’s all folks!’. Gave me a lot of perspective on how I handle myself when filming smaller animals now.”
