One being was rather intrigued by them hed spent centuries in the realm of the God's. His mother warned to not mess with mortals their jobs were to keep balance and observe. But given as he was related to a being of chaos he could not help himself but sneek down every now and then pretending to be human; was not hard humans were easily fooled all he really had to do was hide his more un human features.

He fit in with his human disguise he still looked like himself to him but to others he was just an average well built man with black hair and gold eyes.

Cass hiccuped and giggled alittle

Cecil groaned, holding out the flask, chuckling slightly as he stood up. Not long after, a woman from the garrisons kitchen came in with a bunch of food and sweets for the three of them, even a bottle of wine. Hilde thanked her by name, having taken it upon herself to learn all the staffs names.

Cecil put his bag down, fishing out a small bag of herbs. Herbs with special abilities

"Will you at least... kiss me... grief is such a strong and painful emotion...I just want it to stop for a little while"

Cecil pulled out a couple of leaves, handing one to each of them.

"Then now is your chance"

Jack hummed softly at the kiss, holding onto his lover slightly

"Not literally" he teased, taking ryus hand

It was not super curvy but not straight either.

He felt eyes on him but obviously not any of the girls. Hed noticed and gotten good at feeling when one of the mans shadowy spies was near the hair on the back of his neck would stand-up.

"Nn.."

A invisible smoke, at least to the girls would caress the boys back and neck as if he was given a soft kiss before it retracted back into the dark.

Hilde looked over at cass

"You alright? You are not feeling dizzy right? I know the warm water can be a bit much"

Jack leaned on ryu. He loved traveling with cass and his other friends from the village. But as a youth in his first honeymoon phase. Just spending time with this man his destiny had chosen.

"Hhm? Oh no im good just got lost in thought" he smiled sliding his shirt and pants on a more comfy loose it.

They moved out of the changing area and went back up the stairs out into the open. The air feeling nice and cool after their bath

"Your guns give them a heart attack jack" he laughed.

Jack peeked over the edge, watching the doctor hurry past with a bucket of that seemed like boiling water.

Ryuzaki stood out the way as Cass ran past ans down the hall into his father's room.

The man was in bed he was more frail looking his dark Grey hair slightly stuck to his fsce from the fever.

"Father??? What's going on??? Why didnt you tell me you were feeling ill.." he was at the mans bed side gently dabbing his fsce with a cool cloth.

"I did not want you worrying I assumed it was just me being old. I asked your doctor friend nit to mention it less I worren"

Ryuzaki stayed in the door way he could smell the aura in the room the shadows up his arm had a faint glow he could feel Hels undead presence lingering.

He said nothing. It would only bring cass more pain. Death was inevitable for mortals he witness it felt it. Somthing Pure blood Gods did not understand fully tho they could die by one another's hand. Loki mad that clear with Baldor.

Jack stood next to ryu, tho once the demigod gave him that look it all sunk in. Jack stumbled back a step, covering his mouth, then moving over to stand by Cass's side, resting a hand on his cousins shoulder.

"Now dont cry boy. I lived a long life... longer than most in that village."

"B-but you were supposed to come with me..."

"And I have for as far as my body will allow. Your younger you have much more life to live and knowing he is around you tho he himself is not human I trust that being you call Pitch Black. And im sure your mother would be proud of you" he patted his sons hand with his other one. His voice was very soft and low but he could still clearly speak.

"Jack dont think pitty or sorrow. Life's about living as you can and im sorry I could not of helped you more than I could in that God forsaken village."

Ryuzaki stayed silent outside the door way letting them have privacy and to give cicel room to do his work.

He closed his eyes momentarily his body connected to the dark the shadows surely the elder rich entity possessed the same ability.

He helped the man sit up in the bed.

"Here.. this will help with the pain and help you rest. I have not given up yet"

His voice was calm, but he could see the pain on cass and Jack's face.

Jack had his arm around Cass, compared to him, cass wasn't alone

"Mmmh.. you did what you could.. had you taken me in you would have lost your position in the village"

Jack smiled softly and reassuringly. He knew this could be quick, or take a few days.

It took a while before he could pull out, sneaking off when his advisors were occupied.

The man moved through the shadows, coming out from a corner beside ryu. He could instantly, hear the boy sniffling and sobbing softly.

He grunted abit but got comfortable again.

"I would of not cared doubt they would of tossed me aaide I was the only black smith" he snorted aoftly making cass smile abit but was still crying.

Ryuzakis ears twitched as the man appeared beside him.

"His father's dying. I can feel Hels presents she knows when the ill are falling shill be sending her undead to claim him once he has passed and taken to helhiem." He whispered back

"I dont know about that... but you and cass made sure I had somewhere to hide when it got rough. That is something I can never truly repay. But I will try my best, looking over Cass"

Pitch looked past ryu, watching his lovers heart break before his eyes

"Iv seen more than I ever will just on the travel here could not ask for more but my Son's safty and happiness. Most would despise his relationship to another man but we'll given his appearance others would instantly just thrown my son to the wolves persay or sold off. Ryus tail swayed abit the man was calm he could feel his heart and soul at pease he was ready to pass when time. Death truely was not the end just a new beginning.

Ryuzaki stepped in "you can just call me Ryu sir. What can I do? I can not heal you tho i posess the power to it is against nature as Humans are suppose to pass on heimdall will have my tail if I broke the laws"

"No boy I do not wish to be healed maybe if I was still young heh. I only wish to ask as you are of Lokis kin. Your related to Hela yes?"

"Tell me is it as dreary as others say. I doubt it my wife was one to praise life and welcome death even on her own death bed. She called the goddess name before passing."

Jack being a spirit he would see her. Cass the only mortal alive left in the room could not see her.

Pitch watched the two. This was an incredibly intense emotion that he had not seen before. At least not close by.

In the back of his mind he could see a memory. Someone dying, and another putting their covers over their face.

He moved to help the mans body lay down flat, then covered him with the blanket. He moved to open the window. Apparently in the generals culture one believed the soul to be trapped if the window was closed. Even if he had just seen the mans soul be taken away.

After that he moved to rub Cass's back

"Im sorry jack. You as well cass but he is in a better place no longer in pain." He kept his voice soft and calm. Hed seen this before and it always hurt.

"Ryu... I wanna go. I...I dont think I can be in here much longer" he said quietly. His head starting to spin a little.

He gave Cass an apologetic look. But even his spiritual body was rejecting the moment, wanting to run away as he was feeling everything from his childhood all over again.

"Im so sorry jack." He sat down pulling him into his lap.

"Shh. It is alright." He pulled out a flask un corking it the strong smell of liquor from the Gods was easily smelt.

"Its not Okey... my family went the same way... well one moment... then... they were drowning in their own sweat...fever e-eating them up..."

He sobbed slightly, it was all just so sudden and sad.

Pitch felt his heart sting for the boy. He grabbed a blanket, and covered Cass, sitting on the edge of the bed.

He had no idea what to say. But to his slight relief, a soft knock on the door frame revealed Hilde. She had found Cecil on the floor of their hallway. The boy telling her what was going down. And when a strong gust of wind shook all the windows in the building, as jack had triggered a hurricane strength gust. She had put two and two together

Jack clung to ryus clothes. Even if he was lashing out he did not let go. He knew very well that he wasn't actually angry with Ryu, he was just full of emotions, and he did not know how to regulate them.

"I did... took everything in me not to scream at her to leave him be...but that would not be fair to cass...he could not see her could he?"

Jack knew the answer deep down, but right now he wanted confirmation of all his thoughts and feelings.

The woman almost ran over, hugging the boy to her chest. Pitch let it happen this once. Now was not the time to be possessive

Once he was out of sight she eased up her grip, pulling out a flask from the bag on her hip

"Do you remember the year you and your dad made rose mead? And gave it to the entire village...well.. I've saved a flask for a while. Think today is a good day...it was horribly floral then. Believe it will even be more now"

"I know. You dont wish to i have felt this all before it is what makes us human. Your a human spirit im a Demi god. Half human. Thst part of me still feels these emotions. And no cass could not see her only the dead or other spiritual and divine beings can see her in the land of the living. But he could feel her. She has a comforting presants to shoe safty and respect for the dying. It best he passed here on land than sea his body would of been thrown over bord."

Cass whaled into her chest thankfully hwr sleeve did block the view he did not witness his mothers death she passed in her sleep and his father did not let her see her before she was cleaned and made to look less dead and cold. Watching death of his father was all to painful.

He lookdd up blue eyes full of tears seeing the flask and the very strong froal smell hit he took it and gulped a few swollen down it definitely burned but still tasted good.

"The thought of having to bury him at sea is sickening...silver lining I suppose"

He still held the flask, taking big sips, feeling the alcohol burn his throat and warm his stomach. It also made his shoulders relax. He kept letting tears fall from his eyes, but the tension in his body subsided

"One thing is different this time tho...something better"

Hilde giggled, taking a sip as well, making a grimace to how strong it was. The floral mountain rose flavor mixed with the almost sickening sweet taste of honey.

Pitch stood up, walking over to kiss the top of Cass's head

"I should go see to that your father gets a good place to rest before his funeral...I will be right back okey? Is there... anything you think he would want to bring with him? You know what...we will deal with that later...I'll have them bring you some food... dont want you drinking on an...well empty enough stomach"

Hilde smiled up at the man,

"Im here this time.."
