α₯«α‘ Pretty please? Fratjo x Fem!reader
ΰ¨ΰ§ Fratjo begs you to come to his party
βsatoru, i really canβt come.β
your phone was propped up on your desk, the screen lit with his stupid face as you scribbled down notes into your notebook.
Satoru, your best friend, and the frat president, had been bothering you for weeks. noβ months, about this party. his supposedly βbiggest party ever.β it wouldnβt βfeel the sameβ without you.
βpleaseβ iβll drive you anywhereβ¦ you can max out my cardββ he tried again, basically begging.
βno, satoru. i have a test coming up,β you sighed, rubbing your tired eyes beneath your glasses.
βyou literally look like you need a break, come onnnββ he dragged out the last word in that annoying whiny voice of his.
you inhaled slowly. βtoruββ
βpleaseeeββ
βi canβtββ
βplease pretty please pleaseββ
βsatoru!ββ
βPLEASE.β
you groaned loudly, dragging a hand down your face. βfine! will you stop nagging me if i come?β
there was a beat of silenceβthenβ
βYESβyes, i will. iβll do anything!!β
you slumped back in your chair. βughβ¦ fine. for just an hour.β
βtwo.β
βsatoru, i swear toββ
βOKAYβ ONE."
β
and thatβs how you ended up here.
pushing through a swarm of sweaty, drunk college students just to get through the front door.
the music was too loud, the air too warm, and someone nearly spilled a drink on you the moment you walked inβ¦
great.
βheyβ you made it!β
an arm is slung around your shoulders before you could react, and suddenly you were being dragged away from the chaos and into a slightly quieter kitchen.
βtoruβugh, let go of me,β you muttered, trying to pry his arm off you. your fingers on those yummy big veiny bicepsβ we are losing the plot.
he didnβt even look offendedβ ofcourse. he just grinned, like you just made his fuckinβ night.
βi missed you! god, can a guy not miss his favorite girl anymore?β he beamed, immediately pulling you back into his side.
a soft, very audible sigh came from across the counter.
βcan you leave the poor girl alone? she just got here,β suguru said, sliding a drink toward you.
you hesitated for half a second, usually when you did end up going to parties,
you took a sip or no alcohol at all.
β¦but god, you needed this.
βoh, shut up, suguru. donβt be a party pooper,β satoru shot back.
βiβm not being a party pooper,β suguru replied calmly, leaning against the counter. βiβm being realistic. youβre suffocating her.β
βi am notββ satoru tightened his hold instinctively. you looked up at him, unimpressed.
ββ¦okay, maybe a little,β he said, loose
you exhaled, running a hand trough your hair as you leaned back against the counter. the kitchen was quieter, at least compared to the chaos in the living room. the bass still thumped through the walls, vibrating faintly into your body.
βthis is exactly why i didnβt wanna come,β you muttered, taking a sip of the drink.
you paused. ββ¦what even is this?β
ββs strong,β suguru shrugged, pouring his own drink
ββ¦figures.β
you took another sip anyway.
satoru watched you satisfied. βsee? youβre already having fun.β
you gave him a flat look. βiβve been here for like.. thirty seconds max.β
βand itβs the best thirty seconds ever, right?"
ββ¦no.β
he clutched his chest dramatically. βwow. you wound me.β
βgood, hope it hurtsβ you shot back with a slight smile.
suguru smirked. βsheβs already in a better mood.β
βdoesnβt prove anything, i couldβve been studying now.β you protested, knowing you couldve used this time way more efficiently.
βgive it ten minutes,β satoru scoffed.
βi will leave.β
βyou said an hour.β
βdont make me regret it.β
βoh cβmnββ
βsatoru.β
ββ¦okay, okay,β he lifted his hands in surrender, grin still firmly in place. βno pressure,β he said, way too casually. βyou can leave whenever you want.β
you stared at him for a second, unimpressed and cocking your brow. ββ¦okay, what are you up to?β
his smile twitched slightly as he chuckled, βwhat? iβm not up to anything.β
βyouβre a terrible liar,β you deadpanned.
βheβs up to something,β suguru cut in smoothly from across the counter, not even looking up from his drink.
satoru shot him a glare. βwow. i see how it is.β
βiβm just honest,β suguru replied.
βi prefer supportive friends.β
βthen lower your standards.β
βi did then i met youββ
you exhaled quietly, tuning them out as your gaze drifted toward the kitchen entrance. someone stumbled in, laughing too loudly, nearly knocking into a chair before catching themselves and disappearing again just as fast.
βi donβt get it,β you sigh unamused. βhow do you actually enjoy this?β
satoru looked at you like the answer was obvious. βitβs fun.β you raised a brow, gesturing vaguely toward the mess in the living room. βdoes that look fun to youβ you scoffed
βyeah,β he said, without hesitation.
then his tone shiftedβjust slightly, softer around the edges. βeven more tonightβ he grinned
you paused.
βwhatβs that supposed to mean?β
he shrugged, but the grin didnβt quite hide it this time. you held his gaze for a second longer than you meant to before looking away, bringing the cup to your lips just to have something to do.
βyouβre being weird.β
βim not.β
βright.β
that earned a quiet snort from suguru.
βheβs been like this all week,β he added. βheβs like a fuckinβ kid.β
βam notβ,β satoru protested.
you let out a small breath of a laugh, shaking your head. βladies calm down.β
βmm, yes maβam,β satoru said lightly.
you shot him a glare. βi still regret coming here.β
βkeep telling yourself thatβ
you hesitated, the corner of your mouth twitching despite your own earlier words.
ββ¦itβs not completely terrible,β you admitted, quieter this time.
that was all it took for his entire expression lit up, like youβd just handed him a win heβd been chasing for weeks.
βI knew it,β Satoru said instantly, leaning in just a little as his grin widened like heβd just won the jackpot. (π€ͺ) βYouβre enjoying yourself.β
βDonβt push it,β you muttered, the itch to leave already coming back
βor whatt~β he snickered as you turned your head to him with a unimpressed look. βYouβre annoying.
βAnd yet,β he shot back smoothly, βyou still came for me.β
You looked away, bringing your drink up to your lips to sip it, praying the burn of the alcohol takes away that pressure in your chest. βDonβt make it weird.β
βweird?β he asked, softer now.
βyes. weird.β
his grin widened, βsorry princes, didnβt mean toβ he smirked while ruffling your hair.
You frowned slightly, swatting his hand away and fixing your hair. βToruββ
βright right.. but on a serious note..,β he smiled teasingly, even though there was something steadier in his voice now. βYou hate stuff like this. Crowds, noiseβ¦ people.β He gestured vaguely toward the living room, where the music pulsed and laughter spilled into the hallway. βAll of it.β
ββ¦yeah,β you said, curious where he is going with this. βSo the fact you came anyway?β His smile returned, smaller this time, less teasing. βThat means a lot to me.β
You didnβt respond right away.
Because god damnitβ how did he always manage to get under your skin?
ββ¦youβre overthinking it,β you said finally, quieter now, eyes fixed on the rim of your cup.
βAm I?β he asked, genuinely as suguru scoffed at his dumbfounded friend.
βYes.β you deadpan, even tho he really wasnβt overthinking it.
He huffed out a quiet laugh. βam i? can you blame meββ
βToru.β
βAlright, alright,β he lifted his hands in surrender again, though the glint in his eyes didnβt fade.
Across the counter, Suguru watched the exchange with mild amusement, taking a slow sip of his drink. βits kinda nice.β
You glanced at him. βWhat is?β
βYou not trying to escape within the first five minutes, plus i donβt have to deal with satoru alone.β
βI still might.β you shrugged
βSure you willβ he said unconvinced.
The bass from the living room thumped harder, vibrating faintly through the floor beneath your feet. Someone shouted, followed by a burst of laughter, and the sound of something clattering over.
You shouldβve left by now. you have to admit, youβre slightly overstimulated. Tired. Already itching to sleep in your bed. but you found yourselfβ¦ lingering.
Leaning back against the counter, drink still in hand. Your gaze fell back on Satoru, who was already looking at you.
ββ¦what?β you asked.
βNothing,β he said quickly.
βYouβre staring.β
βso?β he shrugged
βstop.β
βHarsh.β
βgrow upβ
That earned a quiet laugh from him, his white locks falling in fromt of his eyes.
For a moment, everything else seemed to fade into the background, the noise, the movement, the loud mess in the other rooms. It didnβt disappear, but it felt farther away. Like it didnβt matter as much.
It wasnβt the party. It wasnβt even the drink slowly warming your system. It was just this.. standing in a slightly quieter kitchen, between your two closest friends, with Satoru shamelessly checking you out.
ββ¦donβt get used to this,β you muttered.
βToo late,β he replied easily.
You rolled your eyes, but the corner of your mouth betrayed you. And even though you told yourself youβd leave soon..
..you stayed.
