this terrible poll has some of the most tumblr-brained opinions and understandings of "AI" that you could imagine in the comments and replies. There's so many tumblr people who hate AI because they Believe they care about accurate information, but who have no problem with a museum apparently trying to base their policies on tumblr polls on a topic that tumblr famously has an extremely one-sided opinion on. Like, this is clearly a poll designed to tell someone's boss that people dont like AI. That's fine, but dont then pretend you care about the veracity of data. All the questions are so nebulous about what they even mean by AI that it is completely worthless as information. I'm personally very skeptical about how AI is implemented and being forced on everyone by the big investors in the technology, and how it relates to labor and social issues, and i think that LLM's like chatGPT are pretty much garbage, but the general tumblr user is just so incredibly infantile and uninformed about it that it hurts to read their opinions, so please join me in torturing yourself by reading them.

there would be a bunch of angles to criticize it from in terms of survey design (it's a tumblr poll!!!), but what immediately struck me is the third question doesn't have a neutral option. There may be times when you don't want a neutral option because you want people to take a position (in some agree/disagree questions for example, it can make sense to force poeople to either "slightly agree" or "slightly disagree" rather than just pick neither) but this is a case where it's possible and very likely that most people would give a neutral answer.

I guess you dotards don’t know how Section 8 works, do you! 1) The property owner has to apply to the government to qualify. 2) As a property owner you are not required by law to accept Section 8 applicants! 3) If property is approved then the answer would be “YES” otherwise the answer required by law is “NO”.
