As today is the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, it’s a great time to revisit Dinah from Devon’s memory of this historic event. And yes, still makes me laugh.

Today is the 54th anniversary of the moon landing, but Dinah’s diary entry is still absolutely magnificent.

56th anniversary of the finest moment in human history…..and some folks landing on the moon.

more than anything i want a world where a trans girl realizing she is a trans girl faces zero fear from that realization and subsequent coming out. Where she can say "Oh sweet, I can just be a girl? Sign me up!", no worrying if shes girl enough, no worrying if society will accept her, no worrying if she'll be an attractive girl as she transitions, no worrying at all in any way shape or form.

Yeah man, this wizard sleepover is cozy. I just saw a guy gently clap his hands together and say "hot beverage conjuration" or something, and suddenly everyone was holding a perfect mug of their favorite warm drink in their hands. Nobody who was already sleeping even woke up, that's how cozy it is. I'm over here casting pillow and level 2 pyjamas. I think I just heard "power word: blanket fort" two groups over. Despite it all I can't hate solarpunk. It's caramel-apple sweet-simplistic, a desire for a greater world on one simple axis without grappling with any kind of political reality. You can chip at its ankles but unfortunately it will still be kind of awesome epicsauce at its heart. Sometimes you really do need to just cut past all the hard-nosed realism, get back to the kid looking up at you with those big blubbering eyes saying "what if everyone was nice to eachother?" That kid does not know an ant's arse about the real world or how it works, but they're still 1000 times more correct than all of us trying to explain why it can't be done. You can't lose sight of the stupid, hopeless dream. You can't lose sight of it. Otherwise you turn into a dickhead.

american blackbirds are icterids but european blackbirds are thrushes but american robins are thrushes but european robins are flycatchers and they are named robin because (checks notes) brits in the 1400s called them "robert" on account of they are just some familiar guy who shows up in your yard. hold on post canceled is that really why they are called that? what the fuck. they did this with jackdaws and magpies too? i can't even be annoyed. how human. I'm not experienced enough to speak authoritatively of this, but I feel like if you're doing RACK stuff that's potentially harmful either physically or emotionally, both domme and sub alike should have people in their lives besides each other that they can talk to about it instead of just each other. People whom they can both trust to take it with the nuance and understanding it deserves, and to not treat it like an inherent reason to dissolve the relationship or spread information about it around. Like, if something bad happens, it's probably gonna fuck *both of you* up. and you might not have the capacity to be fully emotionally available to support each other through that right away. and having outside people to go to who you can trust to say "oof, i'm sorry that happened, I know you knew the risks but it still definitely sucks when things go sideways. let's get you healing up a bit so you can discuss it with each other safely and figure out how to move forward." seems kinda important. It feels like an important part of addressing those risks.
