Does a spray bottle (filled with water, regularly cleaned) work as a punishment for training a brat?
Assuming it is only used as the unwanted behavior is happening, and is only perceived as a minor annoyance by the sub, and both Domme and sub can laugh about it? (And there are plenty of rewarding going on generally)

Because fundamentally I do not think you should try to train a brat out of being bratty, they're just trying to have fun and you should have fun with them on their terms. So if it's playing the game and not attempting to change an unwanted behavior, and everyone knows that's true, then that sounds like lots of fun.
But my read is there's a behavior (or several) that you actually want to change. And in that case,,, I can see how you could make the spray bottle work but it's a fine line and I'd really advise against it. Something that I don't think happens enough when it comes to brats is communication around how much brattiness is enjoyable and when it's appropriate, that's gonna be different in every relationship and so it should be spoken about. If you really want to change a behavior then the place to start is a serious conversation around what you find fun, and then moving forwards the behavior should be met with something like "please don't" and then a "thank you" when they stop, followed by an acknowledgment of their improvement later. Now if you have enough trust built and have clear enough communication could you make it understood that a squirt from the bottle is a shorthand cheeky way of swaying "please don't" and that the "thank you" is implied even if unsaid? Yeah for sure, but like I said it's a fine line to walk and you'd both have to be very open
