You should do more than just listen, actually. You need to ask her. You need to go up to her and ask her about things you can do to include her. We are taught to take up as little space as possible, you need to go out of your way to account for that.

You should also do more research and listen to and talk to more trans women, so that trans women no longer have to provide the labour of even having to express what they need to be treated like literal people.

Adjusted value of Bees. Now that was a special one… because every item in the game had a minimum value, and a beehive was a container for bees, which each had a minimum value… which meant the moment one of your dwarves picked up a beehive, your entire fortress’ net worth skyrocketed… a value used in determining how powerful the foes that visit and try to murder you are.

Okay but you’ve all forgotten the best Dwarf Fortress bug of all “Flying creatures give birth in midair, leading to tragedy” 

Actually I lied it’s the one where after a major update werewolves and vampires started climbing the nearest tree and refusing to come down. It turned out that he’d given evil creatures the ability to sense each other, but forgotten to set a maximum range on it, so werewolves were aware Hell was underground and trying to flee by climbing 

My fave dwarf fortress patch note is “i think i made fish too hardcore”. IIRC dwarf fortress has universal skills so everything that can swin has the swim skill. physical skills train strength, so increasing swimming will have a knock on positive effect for all physical skills. since fish are swimming all the time this meant fish were constantly raising strength and became unstoppable killing machines

my close friend from uni was a cis girl who had the audacity to wear pants and cut her hair short and like nobody at this school, a place OBSESSED with ‘respecting everyone’s gender identities,’ would call her ‘she.’ after MONTHS of this she started wearing a fucking pronoun pin to work and i dont even think that fixed it. me, im sorta androgynous; i have shaggy self-cut hair and go by a neutral name, but i always say my pronouns are she/her, and people ive worked with for months and have introduced myself in front of fifty times will STILL reflexively say ‘they’ for me. i respect the progressive circles i run in, but this IS evidence of misogyny. people’s definition of “woman” or “girl” is so narrow and high-maintenance that even the tiniest deviation from the norm gets you forcibly defeminized. but it’s a compliment, right? like who would wanna be a girl anyway?

replacing an inescapable gender binary with an equally-inescapable gender trinary is stupid 🩷

it really rubs me the wrong way when people do that, it pissed me off when I was a he/him femboy...it even pissed me off when I was a he/they femboy. I've got a friend who's a self-described textbook enby, she's about to start T, and I asked and she said she's she/her so SHE IS SHE/HER UNTIL SHE SAYS OTHERWISE. you're not being extra woke by they/themming a person who says they're not, you're being a jackass by not respecting how people identify.
