When I was in K-12 I was teased. Teased for the way my hair looked. Teased for the size of my feet and size of my nose. Teased for the clothes I wore. Teased for the size and shape of my body. The best way to counter the attacks is to continue being you and not let words or actions simmer the flame of your spirit. Take the time you need to understand yourself, your feelings, and the words you would like to use to describe who you are. Know that the words you use may change over the years. The way you feel may expand. With each step, be open to what your inner-self is telling you. You’ll know when it is time to share information with others.
