Good-Bye Tumblr
After blogging on Tumblr for over eight years, it is time to say good-bye. The reason for this comes mostly due to Tumblr’s new community guideline policies, which essentially lumps trans’ bodies into “inappropriate content” that gets hidden and flagged until the user appeals. The amount of my posts that have been flagged as violating community guidelines due to them being about trans men and top surgeries, hormone therapy, or body image, proves that this is not a supportive space to share information anymore. Sure, they approve the appeal, but that doesn’t take away the message that is being sent, “your body and your identity are ‘controversial’.”
I will leave the posts that aren’t taken down up as an archive of history, but I will no longer be blogging on this site.
My website - https://www.ryansallans.com will ALWAYS be updated and used as a resource for transgender individuals, and those that want to support trans folks. I will continue to write books - Second Son is currently available and my second book will be out hopefully by July of 2019.
