Obligatory “animu I liked so I should complement good cosplayers” post. Unedited images for now, since I really do wanna just pass out tonight.

For the record, that was the only VLR one I saw on the floor today, which is a shame. Steins;Gate pairs were also rather scant, yet another shame.

SAO and Attack on Titan/Shingeki no Kyojin were there en masse, however. (For the prior, I liked the how I happened to find them looking at the Nendoroids of their respective characters)

It’s been a while since I typed up an analysis post, but I’ve been contemplating a few things for a little while now, and after a few conversations with rubblesong (who is the person I discuss these characters with most consistently, and several of her points are rephrased here), I wanted to write up something that I’ve been thinking about for quite some time.

I like Kuzuryuu and Pekoyama a lot. They’re my favorite characters in the Dangan Ronpa series, both as standalone characters and for what their shared storyline accomplishes. Of course I ship them, because it’s canon, and there’s plenty of reasons to do so. But it’s also really hard for me to ship them. There are a lot of misconceptions that Kuzupeko is this cute, happy, fluffy ship that’d have no problems at all if only they had never wound up on Jabberwock Island. Not so.

Let’s talk about the self-aware nature of Kuzupeko.

I love my icon because it shows two of my favourite characters who are similar in many ways. Many people don’t appreciate these characters (Doc Scratch and Kyubey) but I adore them and their sort of villainy way.

How they are alike:

They are above humans an therefore do not understand human emotions and such so they both test our the humans range of emotions to see the results

They are only trying to get what they need and since the humans are in the way, they use them. Humans find it evil but hey, they needed to get the job done and you were they somewhat voluntarily

They speak so interestingly. They twist words slightly. They do not lie. It’s extremely fun to read their dialogue

and they are both into young girls…

And that’s why Doc Scratch and Kyubey is my favourite crossover

So many dreams were broken and so much was sacrificed Was it worth the ones we loved and had to leave behind? So many years have past, who are the noble and the wise? Will all our sins be justified?
