George told the FIA that Max was driving unnecessarily dangerously. Max explained he had to keep to his delta time and was trying to make up for it because he had let two other push lap cars path.

George then directly told the stewards that this wasn’t only impeding but dangerous driving from Max as “slow cars shouldn’t be on the racing line in a high speed corner”.

There is some debate as to whether George lied about the seriousness of the incident. According to Max, George changed his tune as soon as they were in the stewards room and it’s seems George pushed for a penalty for what he considered to be dangerous driving.

Max then lost his temper at whatever was said and told George “I’m going to put you on your fucking head in the wall”

Max then explained to everyone how he lost all respect for George for lying in the stewards room

George rebuffed it saying it’s ironic that Max is talking about integrity considering “People have been bullied by Max for years” says he doesn’t understand why other drivers (Lewis, Lando, Charles) have stood by and said nothing

George also walked back his comments about Max’s racing in Mexico being “hard but fair” now saying it was “do or die. I’m willing to take this guy out”.
