Alastor in Wonderland AU/What If Orb!AU:
In Alice Asylum, there was going to be a musical number on the first level, the Denial Realm, sung by the Mock Turtle and a child version of Alice who is being kept prisoner in a circus. A cover of the song was made on youtube (linked in the image).
Imagine the cast watching the amnesiac, innocent, thirteen year old version of Alastor singing while knowing the truth:
Oh, I'll be free, I'll leave! And I'll get my family back! It's okay... it's alright... Here Everything is Fine. It's the four thousand five hundred sixty-fourth day And Everything is Fine. When I get my family back Everything will be fine! When I get to home again Everything will be fine!
I think the Hazbins may be reminded of Charlie when looking at this version of Alastor.
Oh god that HURTS. Especially if they got to get a good look at Alastor's childhood, his parents - he was happy! they were good people and they loved him and he was happy! And they died because they protected him.
And now they see this version of Alastor, amnesiac and happy and in denial/not knowing what happened to them...
He absolutely is reminding them of Charlie.
@too-much-inspiration @kitsunesongs Since Angel is watching this, so is Vox probably the other Vees.
You think Vox might get the bright idea to try and win Alastor over by promising to reunite him with his parents after becoming God? Heck, maybe he'll use this as another rallying tactic to a war against not heaven itself, but the corrupt angels like Sera and Adam who are keeping sinners from their loved ones in heaven? If he has sense, he might be more cautious in how he uses the Might of Lilith.
I thought of Vox at the ep 5 rally talking about how each Sinner has at least one person from life who they knew was good enough to cross the pearly gates. He asks the crowd if they know for sure if their loved ones are truly happy in Heaven while being separated from beloved family and/or friends. How the corrupt leadership of Paradise is determined to keep segregated in their afterlives, to the point they would choose the genocide of all Sinners, even those who would want to know how their loved ones are doing in Heaven.
Alastor then interrupts, laughing over 'how ludicrous and presumptuous you are, Vox, to think having the truly good and innocent see their loved ones degraded to their true demonic selves.' Vox argues, saying he knows Alastor misses his parents, and at this point he completely forgets they're in front of a crowd as well as being televised, he promises Alastor that he can see his parents again after Vox comes to power. That any and all Sinners can see the ones they've missed the most.
Alastor looks shocked before giving a humorless laugh, telling Vox that the Alastor his Papa and Maman remember was their sweet, innocent 8 year old child, not the broken, mad serial murderer he is now. "Vincent, listen to me when I say, I would prefer my parents remember who I used to be and think of me with love, not see me as I am now and think of me with disgust."
They both hear a smattering of sniffles and sobs and turn to the sound, finally realizing their little 'moment' had an audience. Alastor takes this opportunity to roll backstage, while Vox takes this opportunity to do what he does best.
Ooooh, Vox and Alastor sing a reprise of 'Everything Will Be Fine'- because again Vox lacks originality- and manages to drag the tearful audience into it!
If this is what the Angels and Charlie walked in on, a crowd of Sinners tearfully singing about missing loved ones and wanting 'everything to be fine', Sera's guilt is going to choke her, Emily and Abel are gonna start sobbing, I can't think of how Charlie would react other than sobbing along with the crowd because she still missies her mom. Especially if this is Eve!Lilith!Alastor and she recognizes the song from watching Alastor's life from the What If Orb, though she later would wonder how Vox knew anything about "Everything Will Be Okay', considering she never saw Alastor mention much if anything about his time in the asylum to Vincent.
This would happen after Lucifer's failed attempt to intimidate Vox, though I think he called for backup after watching Alastor's life since the King of Hell got put on the warpath seeing all the evil Alastor dealt with if this isn't Eve!Lilith!Alastor, and if it is, than he's coming to make things right with his wife's reincarnation. I'm thinking he made his iconic entrance to buy time for his backup to properly prepare since he called them on short notice and didn't have time to give much information other than a Sinner Overlord is attempting to rally other Sinners to start a war with Heaven. Which normally wouldn't mean much to the Sins or Goetia but this is after Hell learned that Angels and be hurt and even killed with Angelic Steel, so the threat of war is real with how paranoid and hair-trigger Heaven, and especially Sera, have been in the past decade.
One reaction I'm interested in is Lute. She's in the midst of grieving her... whatever the fuck Adam was to her and wants to eradicate all of Hell, fully believing that will make things better. So how would she react to a whole lot of Sinners sobbing and singing about wanting to see people they've lost, due to being in separate afterlives? She'll no doubt feel disgusted by 'Sinner filth' acting as though they have any right to want to meet with 'righteous souls' who did go to Heaven, but the longer she listens, the more she... understands.
@randomreader92 @kitsunesongs Either of you got anything to add?
@rosewillow666 @kitsunesongs
Did Charlie explain who Alastor was during the rally? If she doesn't (Charlie is under A LOT of stress right now and that little titbit would be difficult to talk about) and snaps at Vox like she did in canon with the whole 'sinners like you' rant, I could imagine Alastor subconsciously recognising that self-righteous attitude and Locks-In. Eyes flaring purple when he interrupts and brutally dismantles her justifications, her half-baked apology and snarls how he 'shouldn't be surprised as Lulu was the only angel I had ever met with actual fucking integrity!' Sera's anger is snuffed out when she realises who it is speaking to her and Vox is giddy when he realises that Alastor has (unintentionally) riled up his rally even more. He knew they would be unstoppable together!
If Lute were to try and defend the Exterminations and their righteousness, how all demons deserve to be slaughtered, Alastor flippantly remarks how it's a shame she was heaven-born as Hell had a special welcoming parties for people like her.
I wanna be a fly on the wall when Lucifer has to explain to the Sins (regardless of whether or not the rescue was successful) that the sinner being held hostage was their adopted mother reincarnated.
You forgot Sera's name after the parenthesis, though I got what you were talking about.
Charlie tries to explain who Alastor was but, as you said, she's under a lot of stress and likely can't really put together a coherent sentence with everything currently going on.
Lute would get in Alastor's face asking, 'what kind of welcoming party, Sinner?' and Alastor remarks 'Nazi's, of course! Or, really, anyone who finds genocide to be an acceptable solution to any problem they have, whether it makes sense or not!'
Charlie is gonna have to be at that meeting to calm down/wrangle the Sins to order once she and Lucifer explain what's going on.
