i’ve said it before but gotham (2014) is the only recent live action adaptation where I think its believable that a billionaire’s heir would eventually put on a bat suit and become a vigilante. like every other adaptation is like ; bruce wayne’s parents die. sad! when he’s older he goes on a soul searching journey abroad and comes back to fight crime. gotham? gotham is like oh yah bruce wayne’s a little freak. he’s a weirdo. the death of his parents just exacerbated that. he’s been hyper-fixating on the corruption in gotham since he was 12 and threatened the entire wayne industry’s board, forced alfred to teach him to make a bomb, and got kidnapped five times all before he hit puberty. his idea of ‘fun’ is making investigation boards, reading stacks of data, and fist fighting his butler/dad. of fucking course he became batman. it would be weird if he didn’t
