Been thinking about comic book design a lot lately….something about the bold dark lines and supersaturated reds, blues, and yellows of the golden age…..and how similar that art style and and imagery bleeds to the WW2 propaganda of the time…..and how that’s is reflected in the 1950s-60s classic American advertisement language….but also the origins of Wonder Woman and Batman and others as political and social commentary….and how comic books clearly derived from political cartoons….and yet cartoons still exist separate from comics…..and a pictures worth a thousand words so what’s a thousand pictures worth….and then it all comes back around to comics with the pop art movement and specifically Roy Lichtenstein….ands it’s all the same visual language of how to pack a punch
