economics and left wing politics are only just the beginning. catholicism must experience a cultural rebirth. people (esp in the US) must start recognizing themselves as catholics first. and thus “produce” art which is catholic. catholicism is more than a religion, it is a living breathing concrete international community. 

this also means shit like reviving catholic action style groups. basically: constructing a “counterpublic” for catholic discourse (The)

this is also why Pier Giorgio Frassati is so important. he truly understood the importance of having a really vibrant Catholic culture. you know what term his sister uses to describe him the most in her biography of him? “militant catholic.” 

this is *also* why is it so important to struggle and work towards retaking back the notion of “reviving Catholic culture” away from the fascist catholics.
