modern regulus has attachment issues

he doesn’t know why, but it’s been engraved in his bones since he was a child. it’s especially prominent when sirius comes in play.

it’s subtle but consistent energy forces him to believe that he is broken. his heart momentarily stops every time sirius does mundane but oddly specific things like closing the front door, playing without him in the rain, spending a night at the potters’, and affectionately using the word “brother” when it isn’t directed at him.

little does he know it’s the subconscious in his soul that remembers the pain of being abandoned by his brother in their first life.

it’s undeniable—regulus arcturus black is attached to his brother the way a koala would be to a eucalyptus tree. he knows it’s unhealthy to convince his brother to stay, but he would do anything to keep sirius—even if it meant leaving with him.

so yes. regulus is possessive and he has attachment issues but all is forgiven because in this life, he followed his brother outside the door, played with him in the rain, and spent the rest of his life with the potters.
