It started out as any other relationship might start, boy likes girl, girl likes boy. The boy holds her hand while they are with friends, the girl blushes with a smile. He kisses her forehead mid conversation, and she blushes and tries to do the same to him, but she can't manage it. She kisses him, and he kisses her like nothing in the world but her matters. Her stomach fills with butterflies, and she smiles like a fool, blushing and happy. She believes shes on top of the world. The next night they hang out on the roof of an abandoned house, they make out... things get heated. The girl walks home and he walks with her. The girl is unbelievably happy. She thinks they're in a relationship. The next night, her self-conscious thoughts take over and she asks, "What are we?" and he replies, "I want someone to care for, and someone to care for me." She smiles. "Me too." They hang out with a friend the next day, the friend is a distraction. The next day they smile and laugh.

She doesn't come to school Tuesday. Or Wednesday. Or the next week, or the next... People are believing that shes dead, or that she moved. When she comes back, she can't make herself tell anyone what happened. The girl gets too caught up in catching up with friends to notice the boy is being distant. He hugs her the day she gets back, and before they leave for the bus after school. The next few days they don't talk. Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday go by in a blur.

The girl is confused, and a little hurt. The boy acts as if he is avoiding her, not sitting with their friends at the table, never speaking to her. Not replying to the girls texts. On Tuesday the girl's friend has their phone open. And a video of the boy is on the phone, so the girl is intrigued, and leans to watch the video. It's a video of the boy... kissing another girl, with a date at the bottom, 5 hours ago, the timestamp says. 2/5/19, the date says. The girl is crushed. Can she call what they had a relationship? Did he start dating another person while she was away? What happened? What did she do? How could he? Why? WHY?
