Sometimes I think… even when he’s willing, Sam can’t be a proper narrative bomb, or join in on a proper bomb, till he’s had or adopted a kid with True Parenting on Hard Mode.

In the series finale, we get the terrified Sam-coded kid hiding under the bed with the Jack-coded kid, almost hinting that, despite being his named parent, Sam actually relates to Jack in a little brotherly/mentorly fashion. (It makes sense… Dean was his model for that!)

But I suppose in season 16, we could finally see that come to fruition for Sam and his new kid, his true neurotic reckoning of safety and autonomy coming full circle…

She is a sort of mirror-but-reversal of Cas swallowing the purgatory souls which eventually leads to purgatory being open. She absorbs the escaped souls from Hell to close the Hell-rift.

She's also Dean-and-Jack coded in that hers is a self-sacrificing move to save the world.

While she isn't quite a bomb the imagery of her falling into the rift feels very much like what would happen if you threw a bomb into an enclosed space.

She detonates and the blast caves in the rift like booby-trap going off, trapping the souls of Hell back on the other side.

Now you’ve got me thinking, while he’s not part of the bomb club, the Hell trials do FEEL like a bomb, so perhaps he’s an honorary member. Sam certainly gets the Self-sacrifice Scout Badge.

Funny how his bomb moments are SO connected to the Crowley-Rowena-Sam triad, at that!
