One More Breath

self esteem:

1. Boomer is something they have called themselves for decades

2. Ok has been a perfectly neutral form of agreement for again decades

3. The people saying it aren't yelling or saying anything explicit about the intelligence of who it's directed at

Which means all the hate and vitriol boomers are seeing in that statement is all in the head of the boomer in question

And it's there because even "liberal" boomers like to talk about millennials and gen z kids as "special snowflakes" and "idiots" etc

(I know this because just read the things the so called liberal boomers write about Bernie Sanders on twitter. Like I don't care if you dislike Bernie but blaming on losing the last election because "millennials were too stupid to vote for Hillary" is weirdly antagonistic towards younger people)

Anyway boomers have been screaming hate and vitriol and insults at young people for ages so they read that same shit in "ok boomer"

And yeah "ok boomer" is meant to be a little dismissive jab but it's the boomers themselves who make it so very hateful through the power of their imagination
