I've posted before about money issues from lost hours at my job, but this time I really just need help paying for a long hospital stay for my beautiful baby boy. He spent 2 years at a shelter before I met him and took him home, and 2 years in he's stopped eating and it's been hard to pinpoint why.

Listing includes pictures of the estimates for his feeding tube, care, and additional testing. Anything anyone can spare, even a single dollar, helps.

I realize I don't make a lot of original posts/personal posts here, so I don't really share my cats. This reblog is to elaborate on Iggy and post some more pictures of him (with his emotional support cat, Bowie, who is in more pictures of Iggy than not). In part to show people what he's like, but also in part to process the feeling of missing and worrying about him. EDIT 5/27/26 - We put Iggy down yesterday due to liver failure, all signs pointing to liver cancer. I have no words, I'm leaving this pinned with the pictures for now.

the govt wants to pass a bill that will basically mess up the school system. they want to make teachers work more for free, make students pay an insane amount of money for uni and are cutting budget for free school supplies including free meals in schools that need them most (meaning some children may have to go to school without lunch), amongst other things. the overall consequences will worsen the quality of education.

obv ppl are pissed off and teachers and students alike have been on strikes for a month so far. there have been actions at schools and people in the streets. people have made their voice heard as much as they could while keeping things peaceful. the date of the vote for the bill has been changed multiple times.

as often during strikes, some people are just here to break shit. some students actually hope to make things so extreme that the finals which happen in two weeks will be canceled. obv not all of them but these students have been destroying a lot of things. ppl have been arrested. the police has been involved in brussels and threw tear gas in the crowd, which again is made of students and teachers.

schools in Wallonia have received the order from the police to stay closed tomorrow this Friday for safety reasons, given the destruction that occurred today and alleged threats towards schools. some schools were already closed today or encouraged students not to come.

students in the region are getting royally fucked over by the government's decision, the absence of their teachers going on strike (which is understandable but still a problem because the finals are very very soon and they need them), and by the people breaking shit and putting others in danger. peaceful protests against threats to education have devolved into meaningless violence. idk of any newspaper in english i can share about this but if you'd let the internet translate your website there's info on RTL.

I don’t think I need to explain to y’all why this is wrong but in case I do, buying a service from someone and following their rules as a client is not a breech of consent.

A lot of the danger that comes from being a prostitute has to do with its illegality. If a client breaks the rules and the service provider can’t file a complaint without risking imprisonment of themselves and/or their client, that’s not a safe work environment.

The idea that nobody would willingly sell sexual services unless they’re desperate is just false. There’s also a lot of other jobs people do when they’re desperate and they don’t like doing. For me it was working retail.

The difference between me pretending to be happy for clientele while working retail and someone pretending to be happy while selling sexual services to clients is that while I was working retail I at least theoretically had sick leave, health insurance, and a way to file a complaint if a customer assaulted me.

See, this is also really bad. It’s called the Nordic model and if you’d actually listen to sex workers, they don’t like it. It still forces them into secrecy and, importantly, it doesn’t let the clients report shady shit when they see it.

I saw an interview once with a representative from a sex workers organization in the United States saying she’s gotten calls from people in Europe saying basically “hey I think someone is being abused in this situation by their pimp but I can’t report them because then I’ll be arrested what do I do”
