Summer had just begun and it was a beautiful day outside. There was a breeze of fresh air to those who welcomed it. The sun gave tan to every part of skin exposed. The birds would sing, even if it wasn’t a lovely song. The speaker played their favorite shared songs as they both soaked up the sun. Brady and Crosby enjoyed days like this; in their own ways.

“You’re no fun sometimes, you know that right?” Harry called out to Brady.

“I am having fun…with my book.” Brady let out a chuckle while Crosby sighed.

Harry has been swimming around in the pool watching Johnny read his book. The same book he’s read about fifty times but seems to never get sick of it. “Jack, come on. It’s a beautiful day and you’re wasting it sitting there reading when you can be in here with me.” Brady closed his book, “Since when do you find books a waste of time Croz? You’re the one who got me so hooked on reading; if anything you should be proud.” Harry rolled his eyes, “You know what I meant, Johnny.”

Crosby pulled himself out of the pool and sat between Johnny's legs. Brady’s arms welcomed Harry as Harry laid back on his chest. “Let me see what’s so interesting about this damn book.” Brady laid his arms around Harry’s stomach, opening the book for both of them to see. Harry scanned his eyes over the pages, taking notes of the small things it mentioned he could pick out. “Read it to me.” Crosby told Brady softly, John nodded and began reading the beginning of the page.

Not even five minutes go by and Frank Sinatra's ‘The Way You Look Tonight’ starts playing. Crosby starts giggling, “It’s one of your favorite songs Jack. Come on, let's dance.” Johnny sighed, "I'm not really a dancer Harry, you know this.” Crosby took Brady's book out of his hand, gently sitting it down next to his chair. He pulls Brady up, making Johnny laugh. “You’re really gonna make me dance, Croz?”

Harry just ignored him and pulled him in. “Harry, you're getting me all wet!” Brady practically screeched. While Croz had Brady’s hands, he spun them around pushing both himself and Brady in the pool. “Harry Crosby!” Brady gasped, using his hand to push his hair out of his face. “Have some fun bub, it’s summer. Enjoy the weather while it’s here.”

Johnny finally agrees to play around in the pool. Music plays as they chase each other in the pool with water guns and throwing a pool ball back and forth to each other. Crosby can’t remember the last time he heard Johnny laugh this much. He keeps to himself unless it’s to make a snarky comment at others. ”We should invite Benny and the Buckys over. Meatball would have a hayday over us throwing a ball.” Crosby nodded, getting out to get his phone. “Invite Rosie too, he’d be mad if we hung out without him.”

Later on that evening, Brady is flipping burgers on the grill while Benny, Bucky and Rosie are throwing the ball for meatball. Everyone was really surprised with how much meatball liked to be in the pool, even Benny couldn’t stop laughing. Music and laughter fills the area as everyone enjoys their time together. Buck helping Brady with the grill, Benny, Bucky and Rosie playing with meatball and Crosby taking videos for everyone to keep for later.

“Alright guys, burgers are done!” Buck yells over the music. Johnny came out of the house with some treats for meatball to hold him over until Benny got him home. Everyone gets their plates and sits around the pool. Bucky rants about how he’s been trying to get Buck to watch baseball or football on television while Buck lays between Bucky's legs. Benny feeds meatball some of his burger, praying it doesn’t upset his stomach while meatball basically lays on top of him. Brady runs his hands through Harry’s curls while Crosby tries to push his hand away. Rosie adds in every once in a while, mostly just listening to what everyone was saying.

The night starts to show as everyone finishes up their food. “Buck come on, one game. You’re gonna be the only one not playing.” Bucky begs Buck but he just keeps shaking his head. Bucky doesn’t stop asking until Buck finally agrees.

The lights from the pool and the patio being their only source of lights, they play a couple rounds of football. Crosby stays sitting with Meatball so that Benny can go play. Crosbys never been really athletic, that’s more of a Brady thing. He watches Johnny play, he has the biggest smile on his face while Benny tackles him. “Hey, hey! Don’t hurt his pretty face, I like that face.” Benny chuckles and starts tickling Brady causing him to start hitting Benny. The Buckies watch as Brady yells for Rosie to help him, leaving everyone laughing.

It gets late, everyone slowly starts to leave. Benny was the last to leave, letting meatball say goodbye to Brady and Crosby. “Thanks for today guys, definitely gonna feel that sun burn but it was fun.” Brady hugs Benny goodbye while Meatball attacks Harry with kisses.

“Jesus Christ Harry, you look like a lobster.” Johnny laughs, turning Harry so he can see his back more. “Yeah, yeah, I know.” Brady grabs Harry by his waist, pulling him close to him.

“I did have fun today, maybe my book can start holding off more.” Harry smiles, leaning in acting like he was gonna give John a kiss before walking away giggling. “Oh, that’s so not fair.” Brady complained.
