George Luz...what would I do without George Luz?
George Luz in (almost) every episode of Band of Brothers
Eugene Jackson was 20 years old. He lied about his age when he joined the Army at 16. His family, I'm sure, got a telegram from the War Department saying he died a hero on an important mission that would help win the war. In fact, Eugene lost his life on a stretcher in a dank basement in Haguenau, crying out in agony while his friends looked on helplessly. He was just one more casualty in a war that was supposed to be all but over.

sorry for being mia I was moving and it was literally hell on earth. but now I have a cute new apartment and ample free time again and so we are going webgott. we are going luztoye (luztoye WEEK is imminent). we are writing fics again. we're back
drawing them next to each other is enough for me
the way it looks like liebgott purposely moves in front of webster
Actually, I was quite happy to be on my own. Looking out for myself was something I always liked to do. It was the one thing I could do better than anybody else. - David Webster, Parachute Infantry: An American Paratrooper's Memoir of D-Day and the Fall of the Third Reich

DAVID WEBSTER & literature
→ band of brothers (2001)
Webgott // Cleopatra - The Lumineers for @zephuckyr
But I was late for this, late for that, late for the love of my life And when I die alone, when I die alone, when I die I'll be on time
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY!!!!! I hope you enjoy your horrible little men.
Repping a particular niche in a fandom is a weird experience. Yes, I'm here and yes I'm part of things but the majority creates mainly for the popular fandom darling who I like but who doesn't live within my brain in any substantial capacity, which naturally distances me from most of my fandom peers and most common fandom-specific tropes. I'm running a roadside stand outside of the main discourse peddling my favorite side characters like they're the main ones. I am a scholar with only one school of literary criticism at my disposal and it's the one I made up. I am going to analyze and reinterpret this work of fiction from an angle exclusively focused on characters and a relationship no one else, least of all the original narrative itself, cares about. Who even knows what I'm talking about anymore, I've got 300 AUs about them. I'm sitting in a sandbox with my action figures. Enlightenment is often confused with madness
ALEXANDER JEFFERSON in MASTERS OF THE AIR PART EIGHT ↳ when are we gonna get into some heavier action?

A LUZTOYE WEEK NEWSLETTER - THE IMPORTANCE OF COMMENTING
Ah yes, comments. Both on Ao3 and Tumblr, interaction in the form seems to be dipping. However! It is very, very important to comment on works, both inside Luztoye Week and out of it!
If you're someone who worries about your comment not being welcome, worry not! This post proves that if you have the ability to comment on a fic, the author wants you to. This post has a good outlook. So does this post. This one too, for good measure.
This is a poll on if authors would prefer 100 hits, 10 kudos, or 1 comment. Guess what won? Authors love comments, just read this, this, and this!
If you're wondering why authors want comments, this is a good read. So is this.
If you're someone who doesn't know what to say, very very real. Sometimes it's easy for comments to slip your mind! Find tips on commenting here, here, here, here, and here! This post gives step by step instructions that are very helpful. Another step-by-step guide is here. Here's another one that provides formulas!
If you feel like you know what to say but can never remember it, perhaps an extension that allows for a floating comment box on Ao3?
Unsure of what you want to say on a comment? Leave a bookmark! You can comment on those too. Authors don't get emails for bookmarks, so it's a treat to find and read. Just look at this!
If you have any questions or worries about interacting, feel free to ask/DM this blog, or the mod :). If you're an author and want to link this post in the notes of your fic for Luztoye Week (or any other fic!), here's info on how to link on Ao3. If I can help anyone else, feel free to reach out <3
PLEASE REBLOG TO SPREAD THE WORD!
Two years after being drafted, Joe Toye reappears. After two years of thinking he was dead, George Luz finds him again.Â
(OR: part ii of the sixties au.)
this is a wip that will be posted for @luztoyeweek! to be tagged when it's posted, interact with this post in any way, shape, or form <3
