I was always frustrated how my P.E. teachers wanted all of us to go “all-or-none” and basically hurt ourselves without letting us build up from square-one like in the first gif.  Then they’d fuckin yell at us for not doing it right >:|

And remember, many exercises can be modified in this way! I did an image search for “modified pull up” and got exactly what I was looking for right away, which is this:

Doing pull ups on a lower bar, or from the straps with handles that gyms sometimes have (called the TRX - they can also be used to support yourself during squats and some balance exercises) is a lot easier than jumping straight into vertical pullups, and lets you build up that muscle with exercises that are still comfortable and safe for you, so you can do more sets of more reps.

The gas station was gone by her window in a flash. *Okkayy*.

“No. It’s got to fuckin’ be up here,” his voice was tight with tension. She’d been trying to hold it together but she had to pee. Being six months pregnant would do that to a woman.

“Look! Look! An inn! Just stop please, I have to pee!”

His sigh made her even more frustrated as he relented to pull in. “If you ask for directions, I swear to--”

“If you finish that sentence, you will be very, very sorry and you will find yourself in a cabin *alone* on your babymoon while I spend the weekend here, in this quaint inn. Without your negative, *I’m too manly to ask for directions* attitude. Got it?” She tilted her head and smiled at him pleasantly as he shut his mouth. “Good boy.”

She climbed out as quickly as her round belly would let her and climbed the old stairs to the iconic Vermont inn to use their restroom.
