Welcome to the My Little SolarPonies, Friendship is Gravity, aka SolarPonies, master post!! This Au is a āwhat ifā the solarball character were ponies, or any species, from the show: My Little Pony, Friendship is Magic.
Currently, here you can find all the concepts and in the future, hopefully, finished artwork for my Au!
As I develop this Au, this post will be updated either with new art or helpful tidbits about the Au.
So this is JUST for my own interpretation for this Au, not set in stone rules everyone has to follow.
Species
Stars
- Stars are incredibly powerful so they get the most powerful creatures like alicorns, changeling monarchs (either reformed or not), centaurs, draconeqi, etc.
- Starsā cutie marks change has their system changes over time
Brown Dwarfs
- Since brown dwarfs are failed stars, they get to be powerful creatures
- Small-ish Dragons
- Kirin monarchs
- Alicorns with extremely small horns and/or wings
- Unicorns with curved horns
- Only stars or failed stars have curved horns
- Regular planets have straight horns
Planets, moons, and dwarf planets
- This mostly depends on the system
- The planets tend to look similar to their star
- So if the star is an Alicorn or a Changeling monarch, the planets and moons will be pony/pony-like and/or changelings
- Draconeqi have planets/moons that often reflect their parts; this could be griffons, hippogriffs, reindeer, ponies/pony-like, etc
- Centaurs tend to have the more beastal creatures: buffalo, yaks, minotaurs, goats, etc (mainly horned creatures)
- Our system consists of ponies and changelings due to Sol being an Alicorn
Humans
- Since humans are in the sol system, they are either pony-like or ponies
- Most seen are ponies, zebra, donkeys, mules, reindeer.
Magic
- Magic is just simply gravity.
- Can conjure items, like books or even weapons.
- Weapons are spectral
- Magic color is unique to the creature and is visible when using magic
- Creatures with horn(s), their magic shows on the horn(s)
- Non horn havers, their magic shows on their hooves/claws and they often will use gestures with their magic, but it is not necessary especially if running
- Eyes also glow when magic is being used
- Even the rogues
- Same color as horns/hooves/claws
- The glow is shown often as irises with no pupil, however, with stronger magic like those of stars, the entire eye glows
- Earthās right eye does NOT glow
- The stronger the being is at magic/gravity, the stronger the glow
Planets & Moons of the Solar System
- All planets have the sunās symbol as well as their own for cutie marks.
- Some have extra, like Earth having a plant and Jupiter having the asteroid belt
- Rockies on left, giants on right, and dwarfs underneath
- Planets, including dwarf planets, that have rings are around their neck rather than head
- Rocky planets are Earth Ponies while the Giants are Unicorns
- The moons can be a full grown Pegasus or an infant (or toddler)/foal(child/teen); however, some are bat ponies/foal.
- Grown vs foal depends on mental age but also size
- Most of the child-like moons are foals
- Rare occasions they are infants/toddlers
- Most, if not all, of the small and/or irregular moons are bat ponies/foals.
- A few of the larger irregular moons are Pegasus foals
- Most notably Proteus and Neried due to their size (irl Proteus is actually larger than Mimas)
- Moons that are irregular in shape and under 300km in diameter, are bat ponies/foals
- The background little ones that have no face/voice are almost all foals with a few of the more tiny ones being infants
- Moonsā cutie marks always have their planetās symbol incorporated or are just that
- Dwarf Planets are Changelings
- To make things easier; Unlike the actual show, changelings do not need love to survive. Most have a pony form that they keep to, but that is up to preference.
- Within the Solar System, captured changelings (moons like Triton) often take on a Pegasus or bat pony form as their main form
- Also unlike the show; they do have cutie marks, even outside of their pony form. Mostly itās just the sunās symbol and the dwarf planet symbol

Ooops I did it again. I got side tracked with these two while working on Jupiter! Definitely not actually procrastinating on finishing him because art is not arting well with him.
Anyway! I finally digitalized them!! Made using Procreate and all brushes used were the ones that came with the app, no custom.
I miss when ads were a single click and then theyāre gone. Now every ad has a minimum of three phases where you watch a video, exit the still frame of fake gameplay, and then exit the app download. That doesnāt even touch on the ones that forcibly take you to another app after opening a tab in safari without you ever touching the screen.
I hate advertising. I hate that you canāt do anything without companies jumping down your throat with mostly bullshit ads. I hate that billboards exist. I hate that every company unanimously decided to make their ads longer and longer. I hate that ad blockers try to charge you money and there are in app purchases to remove ads. I hate that my attention has become commodified. I hate that thereās nothing I can do about it.
(This au starts in the Equestria Girls universe, with Astrodude being sent to the pony universe, being told that he's being sent there to help the human world learn the ways of friendship(he's actually being sent there to spy on the ponies, find their weaknesses, and harness their powers, to take over the multiverse)
Earth ponies: Earth(seasons 1-3), Mars(pre movie era), Neptune(pre movie era), Pluto, Dione, Proto(šŖ¦), Gonggong, Sedna, Io, Titania, Despina, OGLE, etc.
Pegasi: Mercury(pre movie era), Venus(pre movie era), Uranus(pre movie era), Theia(šŖ¦), Eris, Ganymede, Planet X, OTS, PSO, etc.
Unicorns: Jupiter(pre movie era), Saturn(pre movie era), Charon(Until last episode), Ariel, Callisto, Titan, Europa, Wise, Simp, etc.
Alicorns: Sun, Earth(season four onwards), Mercury(post movie era), Venus(post movie era), Mars(post movie era), Jupiter(post movie era), Saturn(post movie era), Uranus(post movie era), Neptune(post movie era), Charon(Final episode), etc.
Other: Luna(Dragon, this au's Spike), Astrodude(human, earth pony for the most part), Astrowife(human), Astroson(human), Huston(human), Triton(changeling, pegasus disguise), etc

These two didnāt have āofficialā designs yet. I was working on Deimos when suddenly I was POSSESSED by these two and I HAD to draw them dancing and could NOT continue until I did. Donāt worry Iām still working on designing all the characters. I just got sidetracked by these two love birds and their eternal dance.
This came out a LOT better than expected. Except Charonās wings. I despise drawing wings. I can NEVER get the perspective right š It is still a work in progress since no color yet, but yea!
And that dot next to Plutoā¦ I have NO idea what that is. It was on the paper when I started drawing and no amount of erasing got rid of it. Iāve been joking that itās one of their smaller moons.
Drawing this while listening to Epic III (āThey Dancedā¦ā) from Hadestown was top tier btw (I want this to be my first dance at my wedding so bad. Unfortunately I am single..)
Also they are like five seconds away from properly kissing, I just didnāt want to draw it lmao.

So now Jack is in the SolarPonies Au. As a goat. Honestly not sure how I feel about this lol. No head study like the others because it was a quick drawing I did.
Oh my god. I feel so stupid/silly. Iāve been updating my insta and Bluesky with my SolarPonies. And it took til Mars to realize I tagged ALL of them as the Sunā¦
All of them.
Theyāre all apparently the Sun now.
Iāve fixed all the insta posts but canāt with Bluesky so. Those are just staying that way. Future posts will be tagged correctly tho.

The babies! I love them. It took so long to maintain motivation to draw these cuties but Iām so glad I did ā¤ļø
Coloring wise is going to be more difficult than originally planned.
Due to many of the solar system being lighter in color, mainly the moons, it does not translate well with my white paper. It does however show up better on my more tan paper!
So once Iām done drawing all the characters, Iām going to go back and trace them onto the tan paper to color them.
Up next is Jupiter!
Also, Phobos is a little too long but thatās fine. Iām still trying to figure out drawing foals.

So Iāve been watching Avatar the Last Airbender while designing the SolarPonies concepts.
And now my brain is thinking of Atla au headcannons for SolarBalls.
Soooooo, here they are!
The sun is a fire bender. Obviously.
I think Earth is the Avatar, but I think specifically he was originally a fire bender due to how in early formation the Earth was molten rock.
Luna is a water bender, due to how the moon affects the tides.
Theyāre still brothers. I imagine itās like a Mako and Bolin situation.
Mars gives big earth bender vibes, idk why.
Mercury is an air bender. Speedy boi.
I think itād be funny if Venus is a non-bender, but if he were a bender, then possibly fire bending.
Jupiter and maybe Saturn would also be air benders, but I could see Jupiter as potentially a non bender. (Edit: now that I think about it, Jupiter could also be a fire bender because: lightning)
Both Uranus and Neptune are water benders.
Planet X would either also be a water bender or a non bender.
Pluto and Charon would be non benders, and maybe also the other dwarf planets and their moons. (I will never forgive SolarBalls for not showing all the dwarf planet moons. None of them small by any means, except maybe Pluto and Charonās moons with Styx and Kerberos as the exceptions, but even they are barely smaller then/the same size as Phobos and Deimos.)
I also like the thought that all the planets are benders while the dwarf planets are non benders. Up until Plutoās dwarf planet status reveal, they all thought he was a late bloomer. (A reeeaaly late bloomer lmao)
The other moons would probably either match their parent planet in terms of bending or be unique to themselves, like the icy ones being water benders, others being earth/fire benders, or a few being non benders.
Iām not gonna put too much more thought into this au, but feel free to add on more/share your thoughts! Honestly I probably wasnāt even original in any of these thoughts Imao.
