As the ground rushed closer, Earth refocused on the pyramids, tossing the allure of the city away in favour of his original goal. Khafre grew in size as he dived towards it, one side faintly lit by the city’s shine, giving him enough of a warning to finally open his wings. Fighting against the wind, the feathered appendages spread slowly from his sides, arching his dive into a rapid glide. Angling with his tail, the blue-green dragon dropped into a swift series of turns around the second-largest of the three, repeating the dance he’d performed for Menkaure. Far larger than its brother, and standing on higher ground than the final pyramid, Khafre towered over the surrounding archaeological sites, rising from the sand like it had always been there. And yet, as he flew over the shadows at the foot of the pyramid, Earth could distinctly remember its construction. The way so many of his humans had poured their lives, their painfully brief lives, into the raising of this monument to their leader’s afterlife. It had confused him a little at the time, but by then he’d grown used to not understanding his wonderful humans and the lengths they’d go to for what they believed in. And now, so many years later, Earth could not help but think they’d won in the end. Their leader was not forgotten, even as the desert itself tried to reclaim the tomb of him, and that was about as immortal as humans ever got.

This is currently one of my favorite chapters, along with Ch. 5. Moments of anxiety are mixed with moments of complete calmness. Earth needed to be alone with his thoughts and he found solitude in the skies of Cairo. In the silent grandeur of the pyramids. Only the night and the distant light of the city. I found this part peaceful because of the grace of the flight over the desert.

However, my heart broke more than once while reading. And something tells me there's more to come.

I’ve reread that chapter like three times now.

So it’s a bit of a work in progress. I haven’t drawn a pony in a very long time and went for a more personal style approach rather than the show’s style. Maybe I’ll make versions based more on the show’s style, but here’s the Sun aka Sol aka Helios aka… you get it… Not colored because I didn’t feel like it lol. Maybe later. Tried to make him look insane because yah.

I like to think the solar flares come from his horn and his fire hair gets higher.

If I ever draw him digitally then he’ll be in color and may look different. I’m still working out how I want these guys to look.

For future reference. If I actually do the other characters, there’s a high probability they’re all going to be in this basic side profile. If I make digital character sheets, then there’ll be more personality/diversity.

Okay. I’m getting somewhere! I like this a lot more! Very reminiscent of my old art style (not like I have many examples of that on the internet lmao), particularly the eyes, but I’m not upset over it

I used hella references via google since it’s been a WHILE since I’ve seen the show (last season I watched was season 5? when it first came out)

But My Little Pony and SolarBalls crossover where the celestial bodies are ponies. Or any species from that series but to keep it simple, let’s focus on the main 4 types of ponies.

So obviously the sun is an Alicorn.

But what about the others???

Is it specific to the celestial body or are they in groups?

Like are the Rockies earth ponies and the Giants unicorns with the Moons being pegasi? Bat ponies? and what about the Dwarf Planets?? Are they also earth ponies just smaller?? Are they mules or donkeys??? Changelings??? I have no idea lmao!!

And if they’re not just ponies and it’s specific to the planet/moon/dwarf planet. What are they?????

OH GODS WHAT WOULD THEIR CUTIE MARKS BE???? IS IT THIER SYMBOLS???? ARE THEY BLANK FLANKS???

Honestly I’m half tempted to draw them as such. Maybe make the non-major moons, the ones that aren’t as large or round, the little Breezies or fillies/colts

Think about the current events within SolarBalls. And now imagine a CROSSOVER WITH PROJECT HAIL MARY

Don’t think about the fact that once it’s all said and done. Once they all finally get back to Solar System after leaving the Rogue Planet Kingdom. Once they finally start mending the relationship they have with their Star. Once they finally talk and listen to one another. Once they finally settle down.

They notice it.

Barely at first. But they notice. Because after 4.5 billion years..

The Sun, their Sun, is dimmer.

Their Star, the one they all orbit, the one they’re finally in a good relation with after millennia, is dimming. Dying. After all their hard work. After all they fought for. Their Sun, an immortal force that was always there, even after they left. Is. Dying.
