Headcanon that Butch taught Magnus, Fenrir, Maisie, and Lucy when they were young because they were “rejects” of Beanies experiments so they were left to die but luckily taken under Butch’s wing so he could train them to be strong and resilient to the shitty world that they including himself had been forced into…

He treats them all equally, tending to their wounds after battles, they’ve semi-grown up with him after all! Though, Maisie has a bit more than just herself to feed…

But don’t worry, Butch feeds them any scrapped leftovers he can find, keeping their little bellies full! (Besides, Maisie would get fussy if he didn’t.)

“Seems the newbie isn’t so bad after all, huh?” Butch says, as Maisie wishes he’d stop using her kittens so recklessly, but it’s “experience” for them, I guess.
