okay little yap about this post!!
firstly, keith kogane being from texas means SO much to me. i know itβs a silly headcanon but GUYS. it consumes my every waking moment i love it so much. iβm from texas myself, and honestly if you take the MAGA people out itβs honestly an really nice and historical place. itβs absolutely beautiful and rich in mixed cultures and itβs such a lovely place to live!! i also mentioned east texas because i grew up in a small east texas town, and it was genuinely amazing.
secondly, this is a really odd disclaimer i have to make, but i know itβs not in any way like being a minority being country in a northern/city place. that being said!! i also know how kids & teenagers are. along with that, i firmly believe that keith had very bad attachment issues from having to let go of his hometown and dad after living there for a long time. i think the reason for his anger issues is that heβs worried heβll get made fun of or people will get mad at him, so he gets mean first so they donβt have a chance. i think he was in a boys home for a good while, or some sort of juvie, and it wasnβt a very good experience for him. i feel like heβd be very embarrassed about it because he was made fun if for it, because they had nothing else to make fun of. i also think heβd just want to keep it for himself for a while, and not really want to share it so it doesnβt become special.
with the team, i think heβd learn that telling people about where heβs from doesnβt mean itβs not special or itβs not his, and that most everyone isnβt going to make fun of him because he grew up in a rural area. itβs a character development iβd actually die to see
