being a “not all women need to be mothers” truther as a comic fan is so tough. even if your fave is one of the few who has escaped the motherhood storyline in mainline comics she most definitely still has some shoulda-been-aborted baby hanging out in an alternate universe.

I think fandom takes the "vigilante work is child endangerment, no child should have to/be encouraged to do this" aspect a little too seriously. It's comic books. The point is to put the ability to affect the narrative in the hands of the kids. The point is for them to sometimes have an adult they can depend on but to be capable and dependable in their own right, and able to take down the adults who are causing problems. The ultimate fantasy for your average grade schooler
