in Serbian, we don’t say ‘middle of nowhere’ - we use ‘vukojebina/вукојебина’ which literally would translate to ‘wolf fuck’ and i’m so proud of my countries language

In German we say “Am Arsch der Welt” which means “The ass of the world”

in australia we say “out woop woop” and i have no idea what it means but its fun to say lol

In Finland we say “Jumalan selän takana” which means “behind God’s back” like you’re somewhere where even God can’t see you.

In Greece we say “στου διαόλου τη μάνα” which means “at the devil’s mother” and I think it’s beautiful

In some parts of Germany they specifically say something is in “Buxtehude” which is a town near Hamburg but lots of people that live at other ends of the country don’t know. I’ve met people who looked at our public transport plan and said “BUXTEHUDE IS A REAL PLACE???” – Needless to say, you don’t use that phrase anywhere in the North.

@the-thorster lmao I only know Buxtehude from “Buxtehude, wo die Hunde mit dem Schwanz bellen.” And ok, it actually appears on our Metropolitan area public transport map.

In American English we say “out in bumblefuck” 

We have the Finnish one in Hungarian too :D

There’s one in British english that’s ‘Arse end of nowhere’ that I love!
