Just need to quickly vent about the Avatar live action series. I watched the entire thing in a day and felt it lacked a lot of what made the original series so great, mainly character development. I could tell the actors cared about the show, but they didn’t always execute well.
I see people being like, “you’re just hating on it for the hell of it because it’s not exactly like the cartoon.” And I’m like NO that’s not it, I could literally write an essay on this, a full analysis. I mean I watched all 8 episodes even though it was getting a little tough for me by the end, I gave it a full chance. I would still watch more if they make more seasons (because of my curiosity mostly).
They added a few things that I really enjoyed, but changed a lot more that for me, changed the characters too much.
BASICALLY I’ve always been an avatar super fan and I am bursting with “well they changed this so now [character] has completely different motivation.”
People saying it’s not that deep, citing things in the original show wrong UGHHHH do not cite the deep magic to me WITCH I was there when it was written
