Okay like when Angel is on Buffy he’s lame and pathetic but when I’m watching Angel he’s MY lame and pathetic

something about btvs starting with darla.. she just pervades through the story. without darla there would be no angel, no drusilla, no spike. without angel and spike, buffy wouldn’t be who she is. without them, the world would have ended a long time ago. there would be no connor without darla, and angel‘s story would have ended much differently. everything started with darla being turned.

..and she subsequently doesn't remember about her most of the time •n• 0,O

having a multi year long character obsession becomes like a abstract thought experiment at some point

I know this sounds like the deranged ramblings of a senile old man but I swear it used to be possible to look up information on the internet

big fan of when you peel back all layers of a character and at the bottom of it there's love

why are they doing this? because they loved someone so much it caused the plot to happen. Grief counts btw

ESPECIALLY a big fan of when this isn't enough to make them a good person

i think one of the positive side effects of the writers' room being divided over spike and spuffy is that nothing about spuffy feels forced, or too easy, or like fan service at any point. it's the opposite of that - the long wait means more character development and a more layered dynamic, and all the hurdles make the love feel earned. that makes for a much more compelling relationship than 'we've had a grand total of three conversations and it so happens that i love you.'

i need to see five hundred billion gifs of spike and angel human flashbacks to live. their stupid hair and outfits simply bring me too much joy to ignore
