Nerd, weeb, and, surprisingly, the captain of the volleyball team. President of the school anime club as its only member, not for lack of trying to get people interested. She is one of your childhood friends and the one that you are closest to, is your best friend despite her odd behavior.
John/Jane Healthcliff
A victim of fate, that is the best way to describe John or Jane; they have been beaten down by life from the day they were born. Being born intersex created a division in their life with their parents. Their father couldnβt take the stigma of such a child and buried himself in work, while their mother couldnβt accept it and chose to only view them as a girl. This is only their home life, as their social life is a lot worse, as they get bullied for being different, for being feminine, even if they present themselves as a boy. However, you and the others donβt care about this, because they have and always will be your friend.
Ryan Ashford
The most annoying yet charming guy you know, Ashford, for all intents and purposes, is a clown that marches to the beat of his own drum. Which for some reason, works out in his favour every step of the way, and that makes him the best captain that you could ask for. He is the main reason that you gave football a second chance, and the main reason why you havenβt been expelled yet, besides Irene.
Charlotte Jenkins
Misguided? Thatβs the best way you can describe CJ, you canβt blame her too much, as she actively tries to be better than her family, but she is somehow still a bit tone deaf with half of the things that she says. She is that one friend who says something unintentionally horrible with a dumb smile on her face, she reminds you of someone you knew sometimes.
Sigismund Saint
The new transfer student, you havenβt personally met him, but word travels fast around the school. He is the archetype of transfer students in movies, cold, quiet, and distant from everyone, but the first two descriptions of him could be because heβs rumored to be mute. The one thing that is constantly mentioned besides his muteness, is his sheer arrogance despite being unable to speak. All bite, no bark. As they say.

Why is the MC African American?
I wanted to tell a story involving a Black MC and several themes in the story are based on that fact.
Why do the F!MC and M!MC have differences?
Simply put, Itβs because of how Irene/Irwin operate in the story, Irwin wouldnβt be a cheerleader, and Irene wouldnβt be on the football team. But I also canβt have the player be on the same team as Ir, so they had to be split.
What supernatural elements will be present in the story and when?
Currently, I only have the vampire and werewolf routes planned, plus a human route, and this is unlikely to change. The supernatural elements will not make an appearance until chapter 1, the prologue is to set up the human elements and the framework of the MCs life before it got derailed.
Why is the MC so violent?
The Main character is violent and more prone to violence, because thatβs part of the story I want to tell and has overarching implications throughout the narrative.
Rewrites and changes.
The story is subject to change due to the fact that I come up with better ideas for the story, it has been rewritten before, changes have been added, and will continue to be added. But I will try to stop adding retroactive changes, and all changes will not affect the previous updates.
When I finish the story, I plan to do one final rewrite before I submit it to hosted games.

So here's how to spot GenAI in writing:
YOU CAN'T RELIABLY SPOT LLM USAGE.
The em-dash, en-dash and ellipses have been in use ever since their respective inventions. Crack open a novel from anytime before 2020, and you're bound to encounter any combination of the three.
The rule of three is human nature. Think about it. Damn near every fairytale involving the acquisition of something is in threes. There's the three-act structure. Trilogies. Trilogies of trilogies. I could go on.
Repetition of certain phrases: everyone has a pet phrase or two. Non-writers included.
Constant similes is something GenAI got from fanfiction where the authors are, by and large, amateurs and hobbyists who haven't quite gotten the hang of when a description is more effective without a simile than with.
Starting a sentence or paragraph with question? Well, that's just what people do. Continuing this with another question? You guessed it, still something that humans do. Is it annoying when it gets overused? You bet. It's still not a reliable indicator of LLM usage.
'It's not X, it's Y' is something English speakers have been doing for ages. The fact that people get witch hunted over this has made several authors in the writer spaces I lurk in completely change their language and the voice they chose just to avoid being accused of LLM usage.
But Siri! What ifβ
Nope. Not even having multiples of these is a reliable indicator. Some people just write like this, and LLMs generate text based on these people's writing.
But their English sounds so weird!
Did it ever occur to you that some people's first language isn't English? Eller er det noget, man mΓ₯ske er lidt for amerikansk til at overveje?
But I just know this person used it!
Do you, though? Who's to say an author you really like doesn't use GenAI? Scepticism is good, but scepticism without the critical thinking skills to apply it is as bad as taking everything at face value.
So what can I do, then?
Stop reading. Block the author if you must.
Don't go into their DMs or askbox or email or whatever other means of direct communication with the author to accuse them.
At best you're right and they'll own up to usage and quit.
At worst you're spitting in the face of an author metaphorically killing themselves to write, who might just have certain pet phrases, who just happens to have a favourite set of punctuation, who loves to use the rule of three because human nature dictates that three is pleasing.
At worst you're killing someone's passion and making them quit working on something that would have become brilliant with time and practice and effort.
At worst you're being xenophobicβunintentionally or otherwise.
And since this is the IF scene, consider this, too:
Writing is lonely and difficult and some people struggle to find writer's groups they mesh well with. Consider that IF writers are doing this largely for FREE. Consider that word count inflation has gotten so absolutely INSANE that IF authors are expected to drop 12 novels' worth of words into ONE SINGULAR piece of media.
And then consider if sending in that accusation really is worth spending your limited time on this planet.
Ai is destroying the planet? What about wars? Ai isnβt that fucking important. This whole topic isnβt even important. Theyβre stealing ur writing? Who fucking cares, millions of ppl are displaced rn bc of wars. Ai is the least of our problems. Point blank.
Whataboutism, the favourite go-to of AI bros who know they have no real argument in favour of GenAI.

They are gender locked due to the RO in questions sexuality, its a sacrifice that I am willing to make for the player's sexuality to be more than just a check.
Ryan and Jessica can only be romanced by female characters.
Rachael and John can only be romanced by male characters.
Irwin, Irene, Skye, Sigismund can be romanced by everyone.

I am lazy, so your sexuality is important and it will affect a lot of stuff. When it comes to picking romance options, the sexuality of the character in question will take priority. Basically if you are a lesbian then technically Ashford's romance path is open to you since you are a woman, but he won't make any advances and his dialog will be different.
Also, I have to fucking recode the entire game from the ground up. May the lord have mercy on my soul.

And a warning to those who actually cared, I am cutting the football and cheerleader content. Mainly because I want to diversify and explore how the different cliques function. It's better to have the MC being an "outsider", you can still determine your reputation and place in the hierarchy of the school. But I am basing it off your choices in the flashback instead of just being the star quarterback.
Sorry for failing on my basic promise of wish fulfillment, I just want to isolate the MC a bit more than what was possible with the previous content.
I will be frank here, I planned to kill off John and Jessica for Angst, and character development. It was to highlight the player character's inability to save people, but I am in a good mood today.
So after going back and forth thinking about it, I will make it so that Jessica and John are ROs now, Yippe. But they still can die if you don't lock in to save them.
I do plan on making both of them homosexuals, so if you were a guy and wanted to date Jessica, too damn bad.
