What a privilege to be featured on The Story Exchange, a global project which aims to "increase the exposure and understanding of entrepreneurial women around the world." Here, Holly shares the work of RTRK as 1 of 1000 stories worldwide showcased for the campaign. Have a little read and a great week!Â
http://thestoryexchange.org/holly-bantleman-raise-roof-kenya/During Holly's time in Kenya, she was working with local communities and noticed the lack of opportunities for teenagers.
Friday is here and RTRK is feeling fabulous! The centre is now closed for break, but our students have been returning to plant strawberries and to prep the greenhouse land with support of Moses, our Agri teacher... Our students will 'earn while they learn' meaning they can support their families, and the effect of the centre is felt throughout the wider community. happy weekend and thank you for your continued support!

Our greenhouse has arrived and is being constructed, generating income for our students and employment for our community. HAPPY FRIDAY ROOF RAISERS!
Thank you so much to Students of Portsmouth College, who recently college climbed the equivalent height of Killimanjaro in steps at The Guild Hall. They did this in aid of Raise the Roof Kenya and the Barut Youth Development and Sports Centre.Â
In 2012 members of the RTRK Â team applied to the Vodafone World of Difference programme for support of Raise the Roof Kenya.Â
This month we were informed that we have their support of three of our team members, which as far as we are aware, to have more than one person selected per charity is very rare.Â
To read more about the programme please check out their website and our personal Vodafone blogs.Â
Community Sports day at The Barut Youth Development and Sports Centre.Â
Fantastic organisation 'Fun to Give' who are a "bunch of guys who have fun on MTB and other 'epic' challenges" recently took on 150 miles off road from Dumfries to Edinburgh, with the aim of raising the funds to provide a greenhosue for The  Barut Youth Ddvelopment and Sports Centre.
At RTRK we believe that our donors should see where their money goes and to know that thier efforts really have made a difference, which is why we will be using the money raised by 'fun to give' to educate our students and provide income generation for the centre, keeping us on target to hand the centre over to kenyan management and sustainability by 2018.

In 2012 Â we took a team of volunteers to visit struggling communities in Kenya. Having become friends with them and worked with them over the past 2 years, they welcomed our friends into their home and were happy to share their storiesÂ
Our project managers had over, as one's chapter comes to and end and the others open! We couldn't be prouder of them both!Â
