was looking through some old albums with my mom and there was a picture of my grandma's sister kissing her girl friend. my mom immediately said they were drunk and messing around but she never married and i've never heard of her having a boyfriend or any relationships with men... it touched me so deeply as a queer woman myself to know i'm probably not the only one in my family.

my grandma's sister passed last year, single, as far as i know so i wanted to take this moment to dedicate this pride month to her and the bravery it took to live her truth as best as she could in those days.

we have always existed and will always exist and i wish i could post the photo to show you how lovely they look but i think i will keep it to myself as some kind of an understanding between me and her and only me and her.

Once again rewatching never have I ever and the scene at Princeton after Ben gets punched is still one of my favorites in any tv show.

The back and forth of both of them fearing that this dream they’ve held on to being impossible (imploding at Princeton v being too dumb for Columbia) so perfectly encapsulates why they’re perfect for each other, even with their bickering. They didn’t go for platitudes, they spoke honestly (you’re far from perfect/ you’re the biggest bullshitter I know). But that’s exactly what they needed to hear!

I could go on and on about how rivalry, true rivalry, is a misshapen form of admiration and love but you can just watch the show.
