i’m not the praying type but i’m not above asking for it if there’s even a small chance it might help so. every port in a storm or whatever.
i’d just got him home from the nursing home. it was supposed to be a simple biopsy. i didn’t even say a proper goodbye. and sure it was probably gonna be cancer but like. a “chemo and wait” kind of thing. not “hey we don’t think this breathing tube should come out of his throat there’s not enough space for him to breath because of the tumor” kind of way. and all the decision fell to me so. i hope he wakes up tomorrow long enough to decide if he wants to live but never speak again. but after such a long recovery from the hernia surgery. he may just decide he’s done. or. he may not wake up at all. i’ll never hear his voice again any way he chooses. any way it goes. this has been the slowest month ever in regards to his recovery. and it’s because this. mass. was just strangling him. and now it’s all happening so fast.
