There is something extremely funny about how kids react to alt fashion in comparison to adults. Adults generally do not care and I am just Another Person In The Space, but kids lose their absolute mind. Examples include:
- The kid at Goodwill today who kept begging his dad to look at "the person with black lipstick" while his dad pointedly tried not to look at me but was obviously hoping I wouldn't notice.
- The kid at a DIFFERENT thrift store who gasped and kept waving at me while I was waiting for my fiance to finish trying on pants. I saw him tell his mom he saw a witch.
- The little girl who came up to me and my fiance and said, "No offense, but you look emo." My fiance was like, "Close enough!" and she very smugly went to go explain to her mom she was right.
- The three year old who saw me waiting for my fiance to pick me up from work, grinned, and loudly announced, "MOM LOOK A SLUT!"
i experimented a bit with my gender a while back and came to the conclusion that yeah i am still cis but i came back reclaiming my own femininity and understanding myself better. i genuinely think there’s many people out there who would benefit from experimenting or just even thinking about it because at the end of the day you come back with invaluable lessons
like you’re allowed to do it you’re not appropriating anything. my trans friends were 100% supportive and i’ve always seen other trans people express support for this. there are so many things we can learn from our trans peers and learning to explore our identities deeper is a great one. and it really helps to disconnect your understanding of your gender from the societal expectations and structures surrounding you, and instead make it your own
honestly as a trans person i really encourage any cis person who wants to experiment with their gender to do so because even if you conclude you are cis then you come out of it with more certainty and a deeper understanding of yourself. im glad that your friends and other trans people you spoke to were all supportive because at the end of the day everyone deserves to feel comfortable and secure in their gender :)

Voting for Democrats is the "leaving the house, getting some exercise, and drinking more water is good for your mental health" of societal change. Everyone keeps telling you to do it, worst of all your mom keeps telling you to do it, and it's not a magical cure-all, but it actually works and rotting in your room shitposting does not help in either scenario.
Also like mental health, voting doesn't solve the whole problem! But if you aren't doing this bare minimum thing, the other tools you have aren't going to work as well as they should either. If you get medicine and continue rotting in your room shitposting, you will probably still be miserable. If you get a union at work but don't vote for politicians who support unions, the union won't be able to advocate for its members as effectively and work will still be miserable.
Anti-voting rhetoric will be the death of the left. Literally.

Every fucking thing wrong in this country is almost certainly the result of Republicans being in power. In 2020, Texas cut half of the polling places in black neighborhoods, and doubled them in white ones, regardless of population. It was Republicans bitching about mail in voting, and constantly, constantly fearmonger about voter fraud. Literally, their platform is about making civil rights harder to practice.
Would you like to know why? It’s because Republican politicians know better than anyone that higher voter participation means higher republican loss.

I think people online treat driving too casually tbh, like there was a poll about people's bad habits while driving and they weren't bad habits or problematic or whatever, they were all things that literally kill people every single day. You are driving a massive vehicle that can very easily turn into a murder weapon with your carelessness, take this shit seriously.
