Do I think she's inherently evil? No.

I think she's complicated. I think she's ambitious, but also under an incredible amount of pressure. I think she means well, but doesn't know how to account for when things go sideways. If you look at her in the grand scheme of the Tribunal, there's a reason why she's the most beloved of the three: she's actually there for them AND takes her role seriously. Vivec is flighty and doesn't take things seriously (by his own admission), and Sotha Sil cares in his own way, but he's not a people person and he's mostly consumed in his own things.

So, Vivec is writing poetry and Sotha Sil is building fabricants, and Almalexia is out here fighting Dagon in the streets with her bare hands, helping kick a plague cult out of Mournhold, sending Ordinators into enemy territory to fight Molag Bal, healing the sick, taking visitors, leading the Temple.

"Oh, but she tries to kill you in the Tribunal DLC!!!"

Okay, yeah. And? After being the backbone of the Tribunal for two eras and doing countless good things, she wakes up and her once loving followers are badmouthing her and doubting her and there's a cult dedicated to killing themselves because they think she's weak, and her dead husband comes waltzing back in and HE is the one who took her divinity away. I think having your life and purpose and thousands of years of hard work come down on you on account of some guy claiming to be your ex would make you lose your mind a little bit, too.

Yeah, and so are Neloth and Divayth Fyr, yet people love them. I wonder what the difference is.
