I was never intending on making a post here, as I wanted this to be a place someone could reach me if something were to go awry on my Pluralpedia terms or maybe upload my terms here or on a similar blog.
But with Simply Plural shutting down, I want to give my honest opinion and speculation. Forgive me if I seem a bit unhinged, but I need to get this out, as I'm incredibly upset that something that has been helping with my disability is basically being stripped away.
While I can use Ampersand (as it has an Android app, but sadly not iOS), this does not have the feature I used Simply Plural for. I used Simply Plural to alert my partner systems and my friends of who was front and for mood tracking. With Ampersand, I can't do that. And no alternatives have this feature, aside from potentially Octocon.
While I am a traumagenic system, I happen to "system-hop", between my side system and main system. That was banned on Octocon as even topics of discussion. There were people who were banned for simply existing as endogenic systems on this app. This proves that the dev team and/or owner were seeking out profiles with things they personally disagreed with and banned them for no reason, which is something you have to agree to in order to use the app.
I do not trust a dev team and owner that treats their userbase in such a way, and since I am a programmed DID system, meaning my system is almost entirely traumagenic in origin, it is not a safe space for me due to how my system operates, as well as the fact that I am pro-endogenic and do not discriminate other system origins in any way. I do not want to be on an app where simply expressing my support for those who are of different origins can get me banned.
On another point, I'm very skeptical of how Amaryllis has decided to handle this situation. I took the time to archive (link) the blog post. I will be using They/Them for Amaryllis, as I'm not sure of their pronouns, and the second someone tells me their preferred, I will edit this post to reflect their proper pronouns.
Anyways, my points.
Simply Plural brought about Simply Plus (link) in November of 2025. This was four months ago. I also had this archived (link).
Now, as someone who uses Simply Plural rather consistently, I didn't even know of this. If it were the finances, well, I'm sure they could have pushed Simply Plus a bit better? Why set up a premium subscription and then sunset the app less than half a year later? This... Really doesn't sit well with me.
I also want to point out that The Plural Association (link) was helping support them, as were other people donating to them, as referenced in their Simply Plus (link) post, which I archived (link).
I also want to point out that... On their patreon (link), they have 136 paid members and you can see their tiers here (link), as well as my archive (link). Since Archives don't let you move around, I also want to point out that their highest price is $31.
I want to point out that, if my math is correct, on the lowest tier, if 136 people are paying $3.50 a month to support Simply Plural, that's about $476 a month. That's the lowest possible income from their patreon alone.
And that's not pointing out their Simply Plus (link) and archive (link), which has a similar pay system.
Then, the claims of being a single person running the app in the "Simply Plural is being Discontinued" post.
But this is... Blatantly untrue? In their release of 1.8 (link), they said you could reach out to their team on Discord. I also archived (link) this.
Why would you make such a claim? When you completely contradict yourself.
And of course, I can't speak for this, but apparently, the Simply Plural Discord has basically shut down any discussion or cries for help. When Octocon has drawn criticism for being disingenuous about their "change of heart" to be "neutral" to non-trauma systems, messages were deleted and users were told "don't bring that here." when it is a very reasonable concern.
The sudden push to move to Octocon from the Discontinued post feels very off, considering the above factors.
I also want to point out... They say its not fees that are the problem, but rather their won personal time... But they have a dev team with them, do they not?
Why not just hand it over to another person in your team?
Not only that, but the "We'll keep it up longer if you give us money, but it'll come down eventually" is extremely fishy.
I'm not buying this "I'm a single person (who has a dev team) and I'm getting burnt out". Especially with the seeming hesitation to make the code open source for people to make their own Simply Plural apps.
This is incredibly frustrating because for many people, Simply Plural is not just an app. It is an Aid. A disability aid. An accessibility aid. Taking away Simply Plural with absolutely no alternatives that meet the same needs is akin to taking away my cane and not giving me a viable replacement in case my knee decides to partially dislocate in public again.
Every user SHOULD be angry and upset about this, especially with the seeming refusal to allow others to make a new app and instead ushering them to an app that has a turbulent history within the system community itself, that has made itself known to be unsafe for users that disagree with it's creator.
Amaryllis, I suggest two things. To hand the app over to someone else and let development continue, or to make the code and app entirely open source so people can retain their disability aid.
For clarification, they are kicking and ignoring people who are concerned and asking for help in their discord server???
They kicked someone for questioning why Simply Plus was implemented when they knew SP would be sunset. Other people have mentioned getting banned/kicked on the OP's blog too.
I also saw a few messages as well as negative (nothing threatening or offensive) reactions on mod posts get deleted. As well as ignoring people asking questions or dodging the question, repeating the same information, etc.
yes of course we have a simply plural. when was the last time it accurately represented who was fronting? uhhhh
not only is the evil alter trope stupid and bad but it also just doesn't come close to capturing the true horrific realities of being a system, such as one of your headmates being a swiftie

Pascalβs wager doesnβt make any sense to me when it comes to Christianity because if God is omnipotent then he would know I was lying about believing in him so there would be no point in that since you have to believe in God to go to heaven
I dislike Sophie for like a million reasons at this point but no matter how horrible you think she is, misgendering her isn't okay.
Here's to the systems whose trauma is "weird."
Those who have unusual or highly specific triggers. Who weren't traumatized by abuse. Or who were traumatized by abuse, but not in the "beaten half to death" way people think. Who aren't sure if they're allowed to call what happened to them terms like assault, trauma, or abuse. Who gained trauma from the things that seem so little to everyone else, but were a big deal to them. Who had people who cared about them, but couldn't provide them with what they needed. Who watched their caretakers fall short. Who are triggered into rage, delusions, or otherwise "strange" reactions by triggers instead of breakdowns. Who have difficulty eating. Who hoard or are excessively minimalist. Who suffer from intrusive thoughts. Who remember the details of their trauma at the worst possible times. Who can't trust those around them even when those around them are kind. Who got trauma from the ignorance of those around or discrimination directed at them. Who don't know what they want to do in life because they didn't think they'd get this far.
Not having trauma that perfectly fits the conventional mold can make you feel alone. But you're not. There are people out there who have gone through similar things and understand. There are opportunities out there for you to recover and find a life where you're satisfied. Trauma is hard to face, especially when it's not what people expect, but you're not a bad person for having "weird" trauma.
Life was tough on you. Don't join its side and help beat yourself down.
Might as well just throw this into the universe. I'm a Chuuya fictive looking for other bsd fictionfolk to chat with, hmu
I dislike all prescriptivism in system spaces. Our system operates based on complete anarchy (except for we don't do drugs) so the hosts naturally will end up making most decisions and doing the most uni work and keeping track of the schedule because they're the ones available most of the time and we don't control switching. We can't just push everything off until someone else is available as to not overwhelm the hosts. Not everything will work for everyone.

For everyone who needs to see this, from an introject to an introject (from fictive to fictive, if I am to be more specific):
If you're not source separated and you have identity issues due to not acting "canonically" in real life situations, I want you to know it's fine. The circumstances change, and we need to adapt. Masking for safety is fine.
You don't have to constantly act "canonically" to stay yourself. You are still yourself.
"Dissociation" as a term is kind of in a weird position compared to a lot of other medical terms that slowly enter public knowledge, because people expect it to be misused like OCD and delusions and so on; they assume people are using it for situations where it doesn't apply, that they are "watering down" an important concept. But the thing with dissociation is no, all these people who are using the term "dissociation" lightly are also using it correctly.
Zoning out is a form of dissociation. Daydreaming is a form of dissociation. Dissociation covers a lot of different things, from complex disorders to everyday behavior. People aren't "misusing a serious term" when they describe these experiences as dissociation, and they aren't hurting anyone who experiences more severe forms of dissociation by doing so. I'm not offended when people without DID describe their daydreams as dissociation, I'm happy that they can recognize there are healthy and everyday forms of dissociation, and so when they encounter dissociation in the context of trauma or a disorder, it hopefully won't be as scary to them.
This is a "yes and" situation, not a "no but" situation. Yes, zoning out is a form of dissociation! And this is how I experience "zoning out" as someone with a dissociative disorder! I'm glad you now have a better understanding of medical terminology and will hopefully be able to better understand any medical texts you come across in the future
If you're looking for people misusing "dissociation", I assure you there are still plenty of people who associate any mention of it with senseless violence. How about we tackle that first before deciding the word for a spectrum can only be used to describe the most extreme forms of it
If you're not supportive of all types of endogenics, particularly the created ones like tulpamancers and parogens and willos and soulbonders, please do not use the endo safe tags. Endo safe means safe for ALL endogenics.
I think it's stupid how the seemingly default defense for "weird" identities is "it's okay if some kid identifies as [insert xenogender here] or identifies with another species, they're harmless (implicit 'and they'll get over it), leave them alone" . you also need to be kind and normal towards adults with those identities and you need to get over the idea that people with "odd" identities will surely change eventually. i know so many adult therians + people who id with xenogenders and it's rude to pretend that it's just a childish thing that people will get over eventually.

If you believe that having a disorder or diagnosis is required to validly identify as a fictional character, I encourage you to reflect on the reasons behind this belief. This perspective speaks more to your own internal process than it does to those of us who base our identity on a profound understanding of ourselves. Having been part of these communities for an extended period, I advise against adopting labels simply to appear more legitimate than others. This approach will not bring you closer to your true self; rather, it will distance you. You may find yourself engaging in spaces that do not provide meaningful value to you or others, and the lack of genuine depth will drive you to continuously seek new labels of legitimacy. Thus, the cycle will continue.
u ever think about the super intense host-centricism involved in most fakeclaiming, likee.. The immediate assumption that the host is the "real" one, the way collective blogs get targeted way more than ones for specific alters/headmates, how fakeclaiming is almost always phrased towards trying to put the host into denial, etc... Like maybe it's because a lot of fakeclaimers aren't used to treating their headmates as equals, or because they expect "fakers" to "play host"... It's like the host is the only one they can conceptualize as the "real one", maybe? but I also think it's cus there's an uncomfortable reality lots of fakeclaimers don't want to acknowledge. It's way easier to say to someone "you're imagining people who don't exist" than "you don't exist". They don't want to think about the fact that they're telling those they're talking to that they, flat out, do not exist as themselves at all. It's probably also the reason most fakeclaimers who do target them won't misgender non-host headmates even in the same breath as discounting them. Because using the host's pronouns for another headmate is a whole nother level of discounting someone's existence, and deep down they know it's not right. Now if only they'd listen to that feeling lol
